  1. Mine did this when new in 2001, catching on the plenum. The factory gently reshaped the bonnet so it no longer touched.
  2. If your car has EU3Mems there are places to do this. I had my 2001 1.8k roadsport remapped by Kmaps following fitment of 633 cams and verniers by DVA and a Powerspeed 421 manifold/exhaust. Simple and inexpensive process with Kmaps, the above work transformed the cars drivability, efficiency, and level of fun. I believe with Revilla's work, you can do the mapping yourself, or likely find others to do it for you. I'm not sure the Rover Mems is suited to fitment of throttle bodies.
  3. @ #30 sounds like your set up didn't suit you. Changing springs and shocks has improved comfort on uneven surfaces and made the car more enjoyable to drive for me. The improvement was also immediately noted by my wife. I'm sure the drivers view of any changes made to the car are relative to the starting point of the car spec, and drivers preferrences.
  4. Changed standard suspension to Meteor recommended spring rates and Nitron NTR1 a couple of years ago. Made a substantial impact to the comfort on B road use. Simon was very helpful.

    Rollover Bar

I have an fia bar with one diagonal. After 10 years of flies and stickers, plus a damp garage, it is showing some rust. Is the best solution after shot blasting to paint or powder coat? I'm not a polisher, and want the solution that last the longest. I don't race, but do some track days. Thanks for any guidance.
  7. I've had 1.8k 6 speed eu3 Roadsport from new. Considered options for many years, then a couple of years back fitted a Powerspeed 4-2-1, had kmaps ecu remap, and Dave Andrew's fitted Piper 633 cams and verniers. Transformed the car, much smoother and more power delivery right through the Rev range. Highly recommended. @pkw2704 your power is similar to piper 633, but for best advice give Dave Andrew's a call. also fitted Nitron NTR1 and new springs from Simon ar Meteor. Again highly recommended and made a big difference over 18 year old Bilsteins.

    Brake Ache

Finally got around to sorting out a replacement for front warped brake disc, 10" vented AP item, but was met with a pain in the wallet. £120+VAT each from Dartford. Is there an alternative item??? since I only potter around country lanes, no racing and no track, ultimate performance is not so vital. Thanks for wise words. JW
