I recall undoing nearside engine mount and jack up the sump. Engine tilts a bit giving you room. But maybe that was to clear the diagonal, not the water rail.

@Chris, that was my initial thought on "National", and I hope you are right.

But then why exclude those championships?
Is the point to limit people traveling so far around the country (risking spreading virus further), and just have regional events with local competitors.

Not sure    and I guess we can ask, or will find out soon!
Still keeping fingers crossed for Loton, and I think Shelsley are running a July event which is a more positive sign.

Interested to see people's thoughts on this. My 0.02p is I'm hoping the Loton and Gurston events run, and happy to enter, applying the sensible changes proposed by MSUK. But I appreciate others may have major health/financial issues and concerns, and think otherwise. 

Quite a positive note, and good to hear each discipline is being considered individually. We all have different impacts from and attitudes to the lockdown, but I look forward to the start of a limited season.

No issues keeping at least 2m away from competitors. At least I won't have to shake the winners hand this year either  

I don't think there is any need for a cutoff switch for speed events, so no need for the brow.

The only related rules I have seen enforced by scrutineers are:

Curborough: if you have an FIA cutoff switch it must work! (Surprising how many didn't pass the simple test)

Wiscombe: you need an arrow towards the ignition key even if you have an FIA switch. A bit odd, and I was told "what if you crash and the FIA switch is inaccessible. At which point I just continued with the biro diagram on a white sticker solution that others were doing.

Hoping we are back on track soon.

Thanks for the offer Gary - very fair.

I've also been offered a spare "on loan" until Redline supplier re-opens, which I'll take. This suits me perfectly, as I want a new part, but can use a loaned part to see if I have more serious damage other than sump and mounts while we wait for the blatting season to re-open.

SV sized boots to fill indeed, and huge thanks to Chris (and family) for all their efforts. Chris has also clearly done a lot behind the scenes in terms of documentation and being super organised, which will help a lot. I look forward to helping Graham and Paul, and for this pesky virus to leave us all alone so we can get back on track.

This season will be tricky and may need some flexibility from organizing clubs and ourselves with a shortened/compressed calendar. But rest assured, no plans for radical change going forward - its a great well run and friendly championship, and we have volunteered to help keep it that way.

Chris - you've done a fantastic job with the speed champ. New venues, new competitors, got the classes/regs really well sorted out. It would be hugely disappointing to me and I'm sure everyone if both you and Mat are not competing in this season. 

Remember once I offered you my car for Gurston I think, when you had some issues. That offer would absolutely stand again.

I have the aluminium trailer company one. Fits in my tiny garage and the front bar is detachable. Unusual trailer. Works well for my needs.

Tillets are a little tight for me on the road, but I'm happier with them on track. On the road, the pads available from various sources (or a strategically placed bit of cheap rubber camping mat in my case) push you forward a little, giving you a bit more space for ribs/shoulders. Might be worth a try before ditching the Tillets...  unless they are just WAY too small for you.

Assuming this is the car pictured on Facebook, with its blue and white nose under some armco, looks very fixable to me, as per the comments on there. Search for "Long Front" on here, Arch Motors will fit, and will be good or better than new. I assume engine is ok.

In Surrey (not too far) I would recommend Tech 7 (Andy Belcher) or PGM.

The 7 Workshop in Hertfordshire repaired mine many years back. Took a while, but ALL the organisation was handled by them. 

Looks like a scary crash, but very fixable to me...

Carbon or GRP?

Surely "not intended" is different to "not allowed" or "not legal"?

The entire car isn't really "intended" for use in heavy rain on the road or for touring, but some people still use it for that - its "allowed" and "legal". 

Class 3 is always exciting to watch, and getting more so.

With MANDATORY and AUTOMATIC promotion of the Class 2 champ, it will be even better with Clive M joining the fight next season...

Still for sale - as the offset on these is NOT  Caterham standard ET23 - they stick out about 8mm. 

(They would definitely suit someone who wants to use 15s and 13s (as I did) as the wing offset position is then correct for both)

Thanks for the offer Gary. I tried Harry's Lap Timer on iPhone with external GPS a couple of years ago, and it didn't really work for me, though I know others swear by it. So this time I wanted to try a DL1/AIM dedicated unit with a laptop.)

Does anyone have a basic data logger I could hire/borrow next week?
