  1. I would be more inclined to adjust the float so that empty meant empty. That is far more meaningful than showing a condition that is virtually irrelevant *eek*.

BTW, I have a Roadsport 175 SV and have the same problem. I'm currently using the 'reset trip' and top up when it reaches about 150 -200 miles 😬.

    Regards, Ian.

  2. So for a Roadsport 175 SV, I'll be looking for 7 or 8 inch wheels.

With regards the ET. How do I measure the minimum and maximum values I'm allowed? Does the size of the tyre have much influence on the results?

    Regards, Ian.

  3. Thanks for the replies.

Jon: I'll try Polleysport to see what they have available.

Richard: Bl**dy Acronyms! Bane of my life 😔. PCD I guess is the diameter between the stud holes. As for ET13 I have no idea *confused*.

Next question: Assuming I go for 13" wheels, what widths should I be looking for? I see references to 6, 6.5 and 8 inches but I don't know what I need or what will fit the car?

I'm constantly plagued by too much choice when trying to make buying decisions *eek*.

    Regards, Ian.

  4. Hi,

Time for a question about which wheels to use for my first track day.

I don't really want to use my CR500s on the track, so I need some replacement wheels (and tyres). I am trying to source some replacements for the 15" anthracites from Caterham. Are these from Halfords suitable? If not, where else should I be looking?

    Regards, Ian.

  5. Hi,

My car has just clocked up 1000 miles and I am similarly disturbed by the sound my diff makes. I have been told that it is normal, but I intend talking to CC about it when I arrange for them to do the first service.

Not much help I'm afraid, but at least you are not alone *wavey*

    Regards, Ian.

  6. Hi,

Is it possible / feasable to modify the transmission tunnel top to remove the high padded section behind the handbrake?

Since I have a lowered floor my left shoulder gets sore after a blat because the cover is too high for my arm to rest on comfortably, especially when changing gear.

    Regards, Ian.

  7. As Tony has mentioned, I had the same problem. The original part supplied by Caterham was too long (although the diameter of this part was small enough for the black guard). I arranged a replacement (picked up from Brands Hatch during an experience day) but that was too long as well. I eventually let Caterham fit the correct part when they took the car back for the post build check. The diameter of the new part is too great for the guard, but the surface temperature isn't that great, even after a long run, so no problems with burnt legs when exiting the car *smokin*. Here's a picture for reference.

My car is a Roadsport SV with the 2.0L 175 Duratech engine.

    Regards, Ian.

  8. Here is a picture of my car with the new style silencer. The temperature of the box does not get too high - even after a long run. So, although a guard does not appear to be necessary from a safety point of view, I feel the appearance of the car would benefit from a guard.

    Regards, Ian.

  9. Thanks for the replies.

Steve - It's too late for the side skin repeaters as I've already drilled out the wings *mad*. good idea though.

John - I might lengthen the leads as you suggest. I'm not happy grounding them on the wing stays either.

    Regards, Ian.

  10. Hi,

    Another easy question *wavey*.

I'm fitting my cycle wings to the wingstays using bigheads and tie-wraps. For IVA compliance, indicator repeater lights are required. The supplied lights only have a short earth lead that is intended to be fixed to front wingstay with a pop-rivet. Is this still applicable when using bigheads?

    Regards, Ian.

  11. Thanks for the replies. I have it sorted now. I even had to hood up for a while yesterday whilst attempting to fit the sidescreens (I chickened out when it came to the drilling).

    Regards, Ian

  12. Hi,

Just a quick question about the hood sticks. Are they supposed to collapse into the boot when folded down or should they be removed? If removed where are they stored? Mine appear to wide to fit in the boot.

    Regards, Ian
