  2. OK, OK, OK..... Point taken..... I know it was a silly question.... 😬
  3. Apology..... This seems a silly question, but not sure what type of zip tie to buy to be used with big head to fix front cycle wing?!?! Hundreds in Googles but no mention about strength! Ahmed
  4. Thanks for all of your suggestions..... I am going to order Hammerite and hope I could manage to do it right
  5. also on the track rods you can enclose them in a length of black corrugated pond pump pipe I was thinking of wrapping black electrical insulation tape around the suspension but concerned it may do more harm than good if water find its way below the tape. A
  6. Thank you Batteredoldsupersport & Paul.. I'm not keen to dismantle it for the timebeing, the rust is a small area and it is not nice to have the car in the workshop in the summer ☹️ Primer: What type of primer should i use? how many layers? how long should I leave it before applying the paint? Paint: If PRO15 is thick and will not look nice in the visible areas, would Hammerite be the one to go for? Have read some negative comments about Hammerite.. Any alternative? The rest of the suspension: If I only paint the rusted area, there will be colour mismatch, should i paint the whole suspensions? should I just apply the paint directly to the rest of the suspensions without any preparation? Regards A
  7. There is a small area of rust on the front suspensions of my 7. Did a search in previous threads and looks like Por15 is the most popular for chassis paint...... But it was mentioned it is a “thick” paint – would Pro15 be appropriate for the front suspensions? I have read about pre-paint preparation (brush, degrease, undercoat) but would appreciate a step-by-step guide please Regards Ahmed
  8. I use 3m Heavy duty Velcro.... good stuff, but 2 things: -- In a previous thread one of the club member was travelling to france and he was asked to replace the velcro with a more perminant adhesive.. -- the Velcro it self is good, but the adhesive is just ok... It works better on Plastic/fibre glass than on metal. I had no problem with the front plate (Velcro adhers well to the nose cone) but make sure you clean the rear rack well (with meth) before attaching the velcro. A
  9. Thanks for all of your suggestions. Elie boone, bracket is a very strong metal, tried "gentle" bend but was worried to break the seal with the chassis..... Ric, thank you for your help... Can't tell from the pic will it fit or not, but the pump i have looks different - it is about 1/3 the length of the one in the pic.. I contacted Tony at CC parts... I will return the bottle and he will send a complete kit (bottle, bracket and pump).. He said the Electric clip/socket for the pump maight be different than the one i have and i may need to adjust that.. Regards A
  10. Folks, Looking to buy either Autocom or Starcom 1...... Not sure which one to go for.... Did a search in the archive but only found one thread about the comparison and it was in 2006..... Would like the use the system for: - Communication with passenger - Communication with other cars - connecting to an android phone (HTC Desire) via bluetooth - connecting to sat nav via bluetooth (haven't bought a sat nav yet, but thinking of either Garmin Nuvi 3790T or Live NuLink 2390) - listening to music (MP3 player, SD card or USB flash drive) - listening to FM radio I would like to hear your opinion/experience.... Has any one tried both Starcom & Autocom? Cheers Ahmed
  11. Will give Tony at CC a phone call today and see what he can do...
  12. Lost the washer bottle on the motor way a few weeks ago - pump still attached to the hose. Phoned CC, they sent me this one Bottle didn’t fit into bracket. The bracket is sealed not screwed to the Chassis. here. The bottle edge looks not wide enough for the bracket…The pump also didn’t fit to the groove on the side of the bottle. Phoned CC, they said a small batch of cars were having the washer bottle bracket sealed in the chassis not screwed, mine is one of them. They don’t have the bottle that fits this bracket…… Any suggestion where I can find a suitable washer bottle, please? Regards Ahmed (car is 2003, Roadsport SV, Rover 1.8, X-power 140bhp) Edited by - glasgow on 13 May 2011 00:21:43
  13. many thanks for the advice.... will do it tonight..... Regards
  14. I am ordering a couple and also getting two pairs of mounts - one for the doors and one for the windscreen... Not sure why you don't want to use the raceteck mount? A
  15. thank you..... To replace the battery, there is no screws on the fob - is it just a case of separating the two ?parts from the middle A
  16. My 7 is a 2003, Roadsport SV K-Rover... Yesterday, the immobiliser didn't work as usual..... To unlock the car, I needed to press the "unlock" twice, the red light will fast flash for 10 secondes then the car unlocks.... I tried pressing the unlock button 5 times, pressing the lock button 5 times, and pressing both together but no luck.... I am happy to drive the car this way, but wonder if this needs to be fixed? Worn Tyre

Tried to search online for caterham alignment figures but couldn't find them... Do i need to give them to the tyre fitting place? Any link please?

    Worn Tyre

Thank you for your reply.... batteredoldsupersport Find a decent tyre fitting place, they can do a full 4 wheel alignment. It's not hard to set up, the figures are all available from CC/here and a 7 is a very easy car to set up - A decent tyre fitting place...! Errmmm, Could it be Kwikfit? - Would they need to lift the car up? I know where the car should be jacked from the front.... But-after reading a thread about Dideon failure- I am not totally sure where the best place to put the rear jacks - is there a CC link in your post that i can't see Simon, thank you for your suggestion.. As usual, it was raining this evening in Glasgow... ☹️ Will try this wekend. A
  20. Just ordered Renovo Clear Plastic and Window Polish.... Thank you for the recommendation... A

    Worn Tyre

OMG, I can't do this myself and not too many caterham specialists around where i live.... Soon after I bought the car I took it to Dreadnought in Callander- Perthshire for a check... They said the car is good and the only thing i may need to think about changing later on was "4 Rear Drop Link Ends".... I haven't change them yet..... Would these rear drop link ends have an effect on the passenger side front tyre? A Edited by - Glasgow on 5 May 2011 08:28:11

    Worn Tyre

When I bought my 7 last August from CC South, I noticed the inner edge of the front passenger side is slightly torn. All the other three tyres were fine. When I enquired about that and whether an alignment check is needed, I was told the inner edges do get worn slightly before the rest of the tyres due to the geometry set up of the cars and I don’t need to worry about that nor to check the alignment. Now, after a few thousand miles driving, the car drives absolutely fine (it doesn’t veer right or left) but the inner edge of that tyre is getting more worn (still legal though), the other three tyres are fine.... Another related issue is tyre rotation……. I never done tyre rotation on any tin top I owned!! Is it something still recommended?! Thank you for your thoughts Ahmed
  23. Thank you Grubbster, I still having difficulty deciding to bond or bolt my wing ☹️ If I go for bolts, would this kit be enough? does it do one or two wings? any reason why there are two different sizes bolts in the pack? Ahmed
  24. here This pack is supplied by CC.... I did an archive search but nothing mention about it....! has anyone actually tried this pack? Cheers Ahmed
