  3. "I'm not sure what advantage you will get from inboard unless you are 99% "on it" with optimum dampers on track" (See Brent's posting) Seymore
  4. With all due respect, that is rubbish Seymore
  5. Silver Freestyle car ran Seamless Steel tube for lower steering column from day one.....
  6. Ok, if I put my racecar engineers hat on and someone came to me and said "my car handles really well but the tyres rub on the wheel arches!" my answer would be sort out the wing/tyre clearance rather than change the suspension and quite probably mess the handling up. Though perhaps doing the right thing is not as impressive as quoting textbooks! And as I said (Emperors New Clothes) just because everyone claims something is correct and repeats it time and again (dampers are everything, dampers are everything, falling rate, falling rate) this does not necessarily make it correct. ('enough digression'?!? there was me thinking this was a chat site!)
  7. Martin, you are right the Seven front suspension, as are all double wishbone / angled damper suspension systems, rising rate. The big problem with making cars go faster is if you ask a spring supplier what to do they will tell you that springs are the most important aspect, damper suppliers will tell you dampers, tyre suppliers etc. etc. The job of the race engineer is to see the wood from the trees, to analyse where the car is weakest and improve that area. This gives the biggest improvement. Bearing in mind the story of thhe Emperors New Clothes is a very good idea.
  8. what reg is it?and is it an ex race car hence the sponge tank?
