  3. Its a long shot, but I'm looking for the oil pick-up pipe that goes with the James Whiting cast alloy sump. Its for a friend who's managed to buy a sump without the pipe! A complete JW sump-&-pipe combo would also be of interest (he's willing to pay a fair, not pikey, price too) if anyone is fed up with 'wet' and gone 'dry'.   6. Lydden & Goodwood: not allowed Late, lamented Boscombe Down used to have a very generous 'tyre-warming' section marked with 'start' & 'stop' before the start area. Certainly helped my split times.
  7. Haven't checked with DT, but unless there's a typo it would seem that the cost of a 'electric' Accusump kit has dropped from about £350 (2004) to £205 (2005) in the catalogue. Re. rocker side-to-side float You'll notice (a) that the clearance hole in the steel posts for the fixing bolt is fairly loose, and (b) that there's quite a bit of overall 'float' when all the components are loose on the rocker shaft. As a result of these two facts you need to to fiddle with the rocker post positions slightly before nipping-down the bolts otherwise some rockers wil have loads of sideways float (over 1mm) and some will feel as tho they're too snug 'tween post and spacer. So you just need to shuffle the posts till all rockers have similar float. You should find then that the float for any rocker is around 20thou max. It really isn't important if its as much as 1mm (40thou) the rocker still covers the valve stem nicely.
  11. This may be a long shot, but I'd be pleased to hear from anyone with a worn-out set of titan roller rockers for a xflow that they'd be happy to sell. The following std ratio parts would help me out: I've got a couple of damaged tip rollers, rocker body (in blue would be ideal ..) plus the adjustable tappet-piece (the threaded bit with the lock-nut).   13. looking to buy a spare shallow sump as a standby for sprints etc in case I crack the current cast alloy one. I have in mind a modified Ford sump giving shallower depth but with good baffling and additional capacity. All proposals (on the subject of sumps) considered. Baby Bucket's quoted "162.5 bhp at the flywheel" Although is been said a hundred times before, its worth re-iterating for the benefit of newcomers that a quoted "flywheel" figure is almost meaningless. Especially when the engine builder is showing you how well he has built the engine and wants paid 😬 I have a 155 bhp spec Roger King 1700/244/45DHLA/Accralites etc and was far quicker side-by-side at an airfield than a friend with a Protune "160bhp" engine (with 234). so .... its all a bit of smoke and mirrors with 'measured bhp' - sorry to say just to clarify: I'm not picking on Protunes quoted figures, all dyno flywheel figures are non-scientific if calculated from a rolling road power measurement.
