  1. I now have photos available for most of the bits Im selling. Im not sure how I could get them onto blatchat but anyone wanting to see pics can email me and i will send them off. Cheers Ade
  2. I am happy to include the caps in the sale at £200 if that makes them more marketable, its no big deal from my point of view. I have to see I have not seen many 711M blocks available and to try and get anything from say Burton power costs an arm and a leg. I think the attraction of this block is that it has been bored out By RK to the larger size, saving some expense if the a bored out block is what you want. Cheers Ade
  3. Peter I do not Know what you mean, the parts are all from this engine as it was modified by Roger King. I have simply separated them out on a price basis. Ade
  4. Hi Bemeco The head is in fine condition, and does not need rebuilding. it has had the unleaded conversion. The engine produced 155 BHP when running. Will get you some pics as soon as poss. Dont know the valve sizes but a query if possible to Roger King quoting the engine block number might answer that quetion. Peter I do mean main caps and they are cast iron with the dowell for the duplex timing gear. GeeTee The manifold is for a standard 1600 Xflow which the engine was originally. I will try and get a part number off the manifold if I can.

  6. Hi Clive Im located in Rugby, warwickshire. If you are interested and want to send me an email i can send you my full address! Ade
  7. Hi Clive This is a 711 block and no there is not any sign of any contact between valves and piston. I would expect of course any purchaser to look over all the pieces before handing over any cash!! Ade
  8. Hi Peter photos and number sent as requested! Ade
  9. Hi Peter yes I can but it will be a bit later today if OK?? Ade
  10. Was in the process of rebuilding this: 1700 XFlow engine (engine number 98 01 223)modified by Roger King in February 1998 to the following invoice (323): Unleaded valve seats, bore block to 83.5, cam followers, double race valve springs, valve retainers, steel cam thrust plate, loctabs, block breather plug, main bearings, big end bearings, double dowelled flywheel, spigot bearing, gaskets, front crank seal, crear crank seal, flywheel bolts, duplex kit, cam dowel, forged Acralite pistons (machined), big end bolts, oil slinger spacer, water pump, gass-flowed head and inlet manifold, valves, guides, stem seals, spring seats, collets, steel rocker shaft, steel rocker posts, steel rocker spacers, oil filler cap, machined chokes, machined breather to rocker cover, needle valves and jets. The work at that time cost £3,159.61. The engine also has the Lucas ignition pack and coil recommended by RK and a set of twin 40 Webbers. The clutch assembly including flywheel is also included but there is no bell housing. The engine came to a demise when the dry sump pump jammed and the 244 cam sheared the teth off the oil gear and shattered some of its own in the process. The loose material caused the bearing at the number one big end to fail. I have bought: A new 244 cam from Kent Cams (still inits oil bag), new cam followers The engine is missing: No fuel blanking plate, no crankshaft, one cast iron con-rod, a complete set of bearings including for safety cam shaft bearings, set of gaskets, dry sump pump, dry sump pan and oil. The engine has been meticulously cleaned for swarf and all the oilways blown out with compressed air. There is NO engine failure damage to any of the parts that I am selling nor any other damage that I am aware of. the completed engine will produce 150-160BHP and I have the original invoice and engine notes from Roger King. Price is £750. Ade
  11. For sale at the non negotiable price of £6,500: 1600 live-axle crossflow with cycle wings. Ex-scholarship car in red/ali with dry-sumped 16oo xflow and five speed type nine box. The dry sump kit has stainless steel hoses, remote oil filter and the cleanable dry sump tank sold by Caterham. Car has older style leather seats with headrests (drivers seat marked by cats that got in one time), heated windscreen, FIA rollbar with petty strut, adjustable dampers, 4-1 stainless steel side exhaust, push button start, shift-light pro, hood and tonneau cover, side screen, set of wimps, 5x Weller racing steels with 1x AO21R and 4x Bridgestone RE720's in good condition. The AO21R is on the spare wheel with a carrier. There are another 4 AO21R's but they may only have a track day left in them at best. Car has a suede flat bottom steering wheel and the original small round leather racing steering wheel. The car was re-skinned in 2002 and the ali is in very good condition. The car does need some minor maintenance jobs - front wishbone bushes, live axle bush and some new windscreen wipers but other than that is ion good condition overall. The car is MOTd and taxed until July 2005. I did take the carpeting out but have kept it, the footwell carpets are OK but the press stud fittings on the drivers side are missing and would require a repair. I can get some photos to you if required but you would need to send me your email address as im not sure how to post them on this site although may give it a go later! Ade
  12. Hi Chaps Interesting points, my battery is under the carbs too so I wonder if the problem is the sam although the curve does not look excessive for this diameter cable. I will check the pedal to see how loose it is and also if the cable is rubbing where it comes thru the pedal box as it was there that the last cable frayed! many thanks for the comments, Ill report back once Ive tried a few things. Ade
  13. The throttle cable on my 1600 xflow is sticking and i cant see why. The carbs are fitted with double return springs and these seem fine with a firm return to closed without the influence of the cable. I have found that with the cable attached and connected to the pedal, when the pedal was depressed it jammed in the open position and the only thing I can think of is that the cable is fouling in the cable cover somehow. The cable is brand new from Caterham so I do not understand. The path of the cable seems ok aswell with no sharp turns. Does anyone have any ideas?? many thanks Ade
  14. Hi chaps Im sorry, I have been away from my computer for a few days. I do have someone to see the car tomorrow and who could be interested in the engine but nothing is tied up yet. As to the engine. No the piston head is not damaged nor is the bore. If you look at what it would cost to get these bits in 1700 size I do not think that 750 is a lot to ask. As to the car, I will try to do some pics if it does not sell 2morrow! Cheers Ade
  15. Sorry to hav to put a post but it has come to my attention that my email is not the current one. I will be changing the email address in the next few minutes!! Hopefully. Sorry to anyone trying to contact me. Ade
