Chris, are you happy with the Red Dot discs ?
BTW. Ital or Ford it is the same disc.
-
Does anybody nows where i can find a T piece to mount on the oilfilter for a Rover engine so that i can mount a presure contact for the idiot light.
-
Warren, It is possible to convert to LHD but make sure that the car you buy has the extended foodwell on the passenger side. If orginality is no problem, put a Willwood pedal assembly in. The only other thing to do is make a new dash. and place the steering tube on the left side. The original pedalbox you just cut out and put an ali. plate where it whas.

Barry, This is what Steve Parker advised me for my live axle ( Ford ) Front: 8,5" long- 310 lbs
Rear : 12,5 long- 140 lbs. but my guess is that you try toe-in instead of toe-out.

Kev.If you disconnect the small wire at the back of your alt.(contact on) and the light goes out, it is a faulty alt.The small wire must be connected where it is marked DF (check this first!)

The problem with grease is airlocks. The quality of grease has much improved over the last 10/20 years but it is still posible to have some airlocks in the tread, so it will wear faster.

ArtA, If they are fresh droppings teeth.gif just use cement.
Where are the marchall's when you need them ? wink.gif

Paul, I did not used the Caterham starter button but a Bosch part n° 0 343 004 003 price 30£ !!!!! and it is fitted in the triangle on the left af the steering wheel ( LHD )but the button is in a safety housing.
For safety reasons i would defenently use the white wire.
-
Graham, Maybe only the center of your wheel is magnesium, and the rim is ali. because magnesium is stronger than ali.and will crack instead of bending but all comes down to the material spec.
-
Paul, So you must surely know JM Bikx with his prisoners Caterham. If you want, i will have exelent tart as well.
Nigelriches, rouge, bleu, blanc Chimay ? you surely must mean amber, dark and blond. Chimay is a comercial beer not half as good as the artisan beers.
-
Cheers Paul, if have some excellent beers in the cellar
so some day, if you are in Belgium you are always welkom to have some. (or any other Seven driver ) tongue.gif

Paul, White & red is the wire for the startermotor but take the power from the white wire, so that there is no power on the button when the key is not at the ign. position. If you take the power from the brown wire you can crank the engine at all times witch is not a good idea.

Did somebody ever tried Red.Dot pads.tThey claim that XK pads ( kevlar-carbon based )i.q. offering reduced disc wear and high thermal stability up to 800°c and requiring less pedal pressure, thus reducing pad and disc wear. These pads work efficiently from cold.

Arnie, You are right that dayglo fades and very fast without varnish protection but also important is the undercoat witch must be mixing white. But frankley i do not care if the paint fades or not as long as they sponser my seven by a donation every last week of the month. wink.gif

Tarkers,If you want quality go for Aeroquip, more exp. than Earl's but far better. I have ali. Aeroquip on my car and used Earl's on a friend's car, there is a big difference in quality. 14 couplings can be as much as 500£ ( ali.)in Aeroquip.
-
Arie,If your car is a darker shade of Ral 3024 it is probebly Ral 3025.The price for Ral 3024 (Sikkens autocryl )is +/- 50£ (Belgium) that is without my 25% discount it also needs to be spayed on a white acryl and finished with 2 layers of clear. This will last at least 5 years.

V7, running without a thermostat is not a good idea, because the cilinder close to the thermostat will always run cooler than the cilinder on the opposite side. In extreme conditions the rubber hose may collapse due to the increased waterflow, this depends on the lenght and condition of the hose.
-
V7 SLR, The little hole in the thermostat is to prevent air locks. If the thermostat is mounted horizontal make sure that the hole is on top. I would not cut off the " bleed nippel" as they never go wrong.
-
Chris, Phone Steve Parker he works with ordenairy Spax.
He claims that they are as good as the rest but far cheaper, and he nows what dampers you have to fit on a Seven.
-
PJ Welkom op het forum van de Lotus Seven club.Hitch a ride in a Seven and you are terminally hooked for life. wink.gif

Bluebottle, it all depends on the undercoat that whas used, the more aggressive the more work it will be.
Start with paint stripper the gradually sand down up until a 1200 grain (dry) and then start to polish but it will take tonnes of elbow grease, repanelling is easy'er but more expencive.
