  1. I have the same quandary at the moment after killing my engine at Spa in May. Leaning towards the Caterham system with modified K oil pump, currently. This unique rally of human life is not meant to be tackled freewheeling, but in full opposite-lock slide.
  2. Thank you for all the detailed replies folks, very interesting! So, 2 options - Pace or CC with the CC version retaining the (questionable) internal pump for pressure. It sounds like the Pace system edges it on performance and flexibility regarding placement of the tank. 3. OK, so after a disaster at Spa which resulted in the lunching of my almost fresh out of the box engine, I am getting to grips with the remedial work, a big part of which will be trying to ensure it doesn't happen again! To this end, what are the options regarding dry sump systems for the Rover K? Is there a percieved wisdom as to which is best? Thank you in advance BC This unique rally of human life is not meant to be tackled freewheeling, but in full opposite-lock slide.
  4. Just to back up Oily's statement, at a recent visit to his place to have the new engine fitted, he found that my oil pick-up was almost totally blocked too. Perhaps someone from CC technical dep't could post an explanation as to the rationale behind recommending the fitting of this potential engine killer? 5. I had the exact same issue, the insulated part surrounding the connector would spin freely, readings were all over the shop, gave me a hell of a fright, new sensor = job done This unique rally of human life is not meant to be tackled freewheeling, but in full opposite-lock slide.

    MFRU

@Grubbster - were CC able to supply? I have been chasing an EU2 MFRU for long and weary and Darren told me they were unable to source them. This unique rally of human life is not meant to be tackled freewheeling, but in full opposite-lock slide.
  7. I was with Oily last week getting the new engine in and when we took the sump off the old engine I was genuinely shocked at how blocked the pick up was with pieces of this nasty thing. If you haven't already removed the foam, please do so ASAP folks. This unique rally of human life is not meant to be tackled freewheeling, but in full opposite-lock slide.

  9. Thanks for the option Brunel and EE, I will go with Allon White this time though, I received a quick and helpful response from them and they describe themselves as 'sympathetic' when it comes to testing cars such as ours. 10. Many thanks Simon! The car is currently SORN'd but will shortly be going to Oily for it's new engine (the last of the current batch of work) so will have to go directly to the MOT station after the work is completed. 11. As per the title really chaps... Could anyone be so kind as to recommend a 7 friendly MOT station in or around the Milton Keynes area? Thanks in advance, Doug p.s. apologies if this is posted in the wrong part of the forum, I was torn to decide between chitchat and here This unique rally of human life is not meant to be tackled freewheeling, but in full opposite-lock slide.
  12. Hi John, yeah De Dion '96.5 S3. I only had a quick look but they did seem to be a mile lower than the actual mount, I will check again though, thanks This unique rally of human life is not meant to be tackled freewheeling, but in full opposite-lock slide.
  13. Any other thoughts on those rear shock top mounting bolts guys? I am stumped! This unique rally of human life is not meant to be tackled freewheeling, but in full opposite-lock slide.
  14. Bang on the money Myles, the chappies fitting the susp' are Nitron dealers in Ireland and this is the 1st 7 they have done, they want to set it up with the 1.4 in it then we will double check the ride height and geo after Oily has worked his magic in the engine bay. It will see no use until after the completion of all of this work. This unique rally of human life is not meant to be tackled freewheeling, but in full opposite-lock slide.
  15. Thanks for that piccie, most helpful as an Apollo will be going in too We have a problem with the rear shocks top mount bolt access though, I moved the driver seat, peeled back the carpets and there is indeed a couple of bungs, they are, however, a goodly bit too low. I guess the plate behind the seats will have to be removed to gain access as the top mount has the nut tack welded to the rear facing part of the mount, so the bolt has to come out frontwards. 'Bugger' as our Antipodean cousins may or may not say. 🙆🏻 This unique rally of human life is not meant to be tackled freewheeling, but in full opposite-lock slide.
