  1. That'll be me then! Saw you flash and then some manic waving through the windscreen, but by that time it was too late to acknowledge. Lovely day for a solo blat.
  2. Thanks - nice day out to the coast. It's great having been made redundant/retiring!
  3. I'm saying the immobiliser because the doors lock and unlock on the ignition key blipper - i.e not using the key to unlock the door - and everything seems to be normal until I turn the key, and then nowt. The very nice RAC man that came out the first time it happened suggested it could be somebody with a strong WiFi signal nearby, another car being locked and unlocked or any one of a number of electrical interferences. I can understand that in a way, but for it to happen twice within a week, and never before, does seem symptomatic of something beginning to break down (and expensive!)
  4. Twice recently my 51 plate Megane immobiliser has kicked in for no apparent reason. ☹️ 1st time, car had been locked with the blipper, left for an hour or so and then unlocked with the blipper. Ignition key turned, all dashboard lights come on as usual, but engine wouldn't turn. Left the car for a while and tried again and it started with no problems. 2nd time - in a petrol station, key left in the ignition, but again same symptoms. Pushed the car away from the pumps and 5 minutes later, it started with no problems. Question is, does anybody have any idea what could be causing this? I am reluctant to take it to the dealers, for them to spend hours investigating at £££££££s per hour, and then replace some expensive bit of circuitry, which might or might not have been the cause of the problem. Ta muchly in advance.
  5. along with lots of other nice cars apparently taking part in a rally . Anybody know what was going on?
  6. from the quick look I had it looked mauve? could very well have been mistaken. They turned right immediately past the traffic lights and went down past the library car park.

    oil leak

*mad*Discovered this morning that the contents of my sump have deposited themselves over my garage floor - 1700 crossflow. I have yet to determine the cause - but as I drove into my garage I may have caught the sump on a padlock staple bolted to the floor. First problem - what is the best product to lift the oil? Needs to be something that I can get from somewhere like Halfords after work tonight. I cant use a hose as next doors drive is lower than mine and dont really want to polute their block paving Secondly - if I have holed the sump, is the only option a new one? If so best supplier please in the Carshalton area. thanks
  12. Thanks - just fuelling up prior to a service at R&H - mind you that would have been 7.55 am ?
