  1. After 10 years of happy ownership I've sold Bluebottle and I wish her new owner many happy miles in the future. Who knows, they may even pop up on Blatchat!

  4. Been out on two short runs so far and no repetition. All seems fine so will keep under review. Thanks for your thoughts on the subject. Malcolm
  5. So far just got it up to temp idling - with result above and no sign of a drip since. I will take it on a gentle run to see if that causes anything. Really appreciate your comments.
  6. Whitish smoke while it burned off. Can't see any further sign of leakage at the moment. Will leave it to cool down and check again. Thanks again all.
  7. Edit: Might help if I said the engine is a 1.6 K-series... There's a small oil drip onto the exhaust branch which appears to be coming from the area highlighted below. I have negligible technical knowledge so any help with naming the highlighted part and describing the possible source of the leak and views on seriousness would be greatly appreciated. Another angle Any help would be much appreciated! Malcolm
  8. T** HAP with some very smart LED headlights followed me as I was dawdling through the twisty bit just past the pub at the top before he booted it with a wave and a glorious noise as he overtook on the way down to Belle Tout. First drive for me in mine for MONTHS and it made me late for my weekly shopping list call from my mum

  10. I've tried a quick search on here but didn't find anything that seemed to directly answer my question so I hope you don't mind me trying your patience with what must be a common question... I have two ignition keys, each with an immobiliser fob (black, lozenge shaped with a lock and unlock button on the front). The fob I use most often has now stopped working but luckily the other does still work. Is a fob battery change a simple process or does it involve re-programming keys etc? Grateful for any advice. Malcolm
  11. Belmont Rise, Sutton at 9:45 am today. Blue with white stripe and matching half hood heading south in the rain.
  12. Going past the bus station around 2.15pm yesterday. Colour looked great in the sunshine!
  13. ... heading towards Birling Gap from East Dean near Eastbourne this afternoon as SWMBO and I returned by a circuitous route from a trip to Batemans in ours.
  14. Around 11:15 a.m. today in glorious sunshine heading E by the Martello Tower. Promised myself I'd get mine out in the afternoon... but never did. There's always tomorrow
  15. Heading south out of the tunnel at Lewes. Ok - not Caterhams but I've never seen 3 together before so thought it worth a mention.
  16. Having set the CTEK trickle charger to the winter setting and left it for two weeks my car started first time this afternoon. Now keeping an eye on the charger as I suspect it may not be reliable!
  17. Mine too.... thought a quick run would do me good as sunny although cold. Have pushed it back in the garage and plugged the trickle charger back on to try again later.
  18. The wife and I had a lovely spin in the Caterham around our local roads enjoying the sun and the autumn leaves this afternoon. Uplifted spirits only partly deflated when I got back to discover the brake lights have gone on the blink since we set off. Shame there's not a more reliable solution...
  19. 2 yellow 7s heading E about 5 minutes apart , the first with a black twin stripe but was so surprised to see the second I didn't have time to notice the finer points. Waves were exchanged. The missus and I were on a short trip to Sheffield Park for a cup of tea and a stroll by the lake. We always seem to return with a plant sticking out of the boot!
