  1. Unfortunately I'm a softy and have heater. I guess I'll have to stick with standing it up and packing it out.
  2. Well there's no doubting that's a good fit. I think it is the same physical dimensions (L=181 W=76 H=167) because I've seen other threads saying that mine is just a rebadged version of yours. Edited by - Gulf7 on 6 Jun 2012 00:52:33
  3. Quoting Aeroscreens: I'll try to take an overhead photo later to give a better view. That would be good, thanks.
  4. Well this is interestng. Mine's a 2004. I might look at the filing trick because it looks very close.
  5. You're right, thats where mine is and it looks like a fit. I measured it as 5mm too tight. Thanks for replying. Craig.
  6. I've just bought one of these for my R300 K Battery Having read other threads I was intending to flatten the front of the battery tray and lay it down. Then I took a proper look. My battery is mounted over the passenger footwell forward of the ledge where the heater sits. This narrows quite quickly between the side of the car and a chassis tube and it looks like the top of the battery won't fit. I've now mounted it upright 'facing' backwards, bought a longer positive cable and packed it with polystyrene. I'm not overly happy with the way it looks so are there any other suggestions out there? Craig.
  7. Mr L, found them. £70 is a good price for the Bosch one. I've seen up to £150 from Rimmer Bros. Thanks.
  8. Thanks both. Mr. L, do you go for the NTK one or the cheaper Just Lambda. Gavinj, by second hand, do you mean used? Forgive me if being dense. Craig.
  9. Hi, I need to get a new Lambda sensor for my R300 K. The part is MHK10006 and I can see a wide variation in prices on the net. Can anyone point me to a supplier of reliable and reasonably priced sensors. I don't want to buy cheap and have to do it again. Thanks, Craig.
  10. I like the look of those. I'm looking to do the headlight bowl trick when I replace my carbon cycle wings. Do they look orange when off? That would be ideal for me. Craig
  11. Ah! that makes sense. I did the gauge test and got the full deflection when earthed. Next I cleaned up the earth on the piece of pipe and it is still reading low. Daughter was asking where I had got to and shouldn't we be packing for our camping trip so I'll change the sender another day. Still, I got the PRRT finished and I don't think I have any air locks (touch wood), just a worrying puddle in the passenger footwell that I found while clearing up. 12. Thanks, in that case I will test the gauge and replace the sender. Sounds like one or the other is the cause of my low readings. Edited by - Gulf7 on 3 Jun 2010 18:21:06
  13. Hi, I've been doing some searches and reading on the cooling on the K series because I am fitting a PRRT on my R300 (2004). Before fitting the PRRT my temp gauge usually hovered around 70 and only hit 80 as the fan kicked in. So I have bought a sender as well because this felt low. In all threads I have read so far it has said that the sender is in the water rail above the exhaust manifold but mine seems to be let into a piece of pipe on the top hose returning from the heater on/off valve along with what is probably the ECU temp sender. Is this likely to give me lower temerarure readings than the normal set up and is it normal? Craig.
  14. My 2004 R300 failed the emissions last year by a huge amount. I took it back to Caterham south who had supplied it the previous year. They got a pass and said that they had put it on a PC and found some one had set the the Lambda way off and that they had corrected. Once home and cleaning the car I found that they had moved the Lambda sensor down from the exhaust primary to after the collector (a blank already existed). Obviously this gives a more average reading if one cylinder is off.
  15. Hi Andy, Jon (Low Flying ...), How is this going now. Has it bedded in and do you think you bought the right volumes of Acousta-fil. It looks like I have the same silencer as Jon on my R300 so ordered the same amount. I was told that the grade or name for the top spec product has changed. They now refer to it as ZT1 Fabric but has the same weight and temp rating as the S2 Glass. Apparently it is quite a pain for them to set up individual accounts for our small purchases, they normally deal with businesses buying in bulk. Perhaps some one would like to set up bulk buy if this proves to be a good product. Craig.
