  1. ( or was it SV67...) Spotted driving into Leicester Grammar school last Sunday. You must have been dropping you son off for the concert rehearsal, I was driving out dropping my daughter. Nearly turn around and followed you back in for a chat! Have spotted you driving into Market Harborough before too.
  2. I get exactly what you're saying Beagler and while I have no experience with Sevens as I am yet to own one, can offer some insight from the bike world. Bikes by design have a lot of interchangeable parts and it's not uncommon to get a single model offered with a variety of suspension options and on the other hand completely different manufacturers on different bikes may have the same forks or shocks. My current bike is a Ducati Scrambler 1100 which comes in a few trim levels, the basic one comes with Marzocchi forks up front and Kayaba rear shockwhile my sport pro model comes with Ohlins suspension all round. While the standard model is perfectly acceptable, the Ohlins is on another level. (Ohlins is usually regarded as the best motorcycle suspension available). The ride seems more supple with better damping yet more controlled over bumps. And that is in the factory setting. Being fully adjustable it can then be altered for the riders weight and preferences to customise it even more which I plan to do soon with a specialist. A similar example in the car world would be the Renault Clio Trophy from a few years back which came with fully adjustable Sachs suspension with remote reservoir dampers etc which were phenomenal according to contemporary reviews. Trouble is everyone's preferences are different and feel can be very subjective, but I am guessing with enough adjustability you would certainly find something to suit you. I see the new suspension on the 420 cup has 10 levels of adjustment! Good luck in your search and please do report back if you find what you're looking for.
  3. Spotted a chap in a blue R300 with registration R300AEC i think? Had a huge grin on his face I went past on my bike going the other direction yesterday evening.
  4. Thanks all, spoke to Nick Potter who is local to me, and he stressed its better to get the adjustable platforms to get the car properly set up as mentioned above, so if I go for S pack will get them separately after getting the car, obviously they are included in the sport suspension on the R pack along with wide track etc which would be nice to avoid the cycle wings fouling the pods on full lock etc but not critical.
  5. Thanks Tim so your image confirms sport suspension has same springs and dampers as the road suspension but comes with rear ARB, wide track and adjustable platforms
  6. Apologies for the thread resurrection, thought it would be better than starting a new one. I've been speaking to Robert at Caterham Silverstone about my new car spec, I asked him the difference between the road, sport and track suspension packs, he said the below: "The main difference in suspension is stiffness. While the road and sport can be narrow or wide track, the track suspension is wide track only. All of them have adjustable platforms apart from the road ones. The standard sport ones that come on the R spec are more than enough." He mentioned that the road and sport are the same stiffness while the track is 30% stiffer. If I go for the R pack I get the sports suspension as standard, on the S pack its an £800 option. I had assumed the sport suspension was wide track. My car will be mainly road use with occasional track day, obviously the R pack has other advantages such as the lightened flywheel, everything else I can add to my S pack configuration for an equivalent price. So do I save the £800 for now and go for S pack and get Nick Potter to add adjustable platforms when I am ready for track days? That was I can also add a Tracsport LSD when I want to rather than being stuck with the Titan?
  7. Thanks for the tips Ian. This is one of my first planned upgrades when I get my car next year!
