  2. More photos added to Piston Heads advert. CAB
  3. Hello Roger The system came off a 2002 1.8 Superlight with under 9K miles on it. The lambda sensor was fitted to the SLR system that replaced it. It is in very good condition but could do with a really good polish and it always passed the MoT emmisions test without any problems. It has probably covered only covered about 1K since the last test. CAB

  7. Thanks Gents Jacked the front of the car up really high and bled the system again, added some more coolant and now the fan cuts out as well as in after about 30 seconds or so. Looks like it was an air lock in the system. I've been away for a few days so I don't know what it is like on the road with the nose cone and bonnet on, I'll let you know. I had a look at the fan as well. The direction of rotation can be reversed as can the blades. It looks to me as if the blades could be on the wrong way around so it is not running as efficiently as it should.... He needs to check with the manufacturer to be sure. You can't take the fan off without cutting the lugs that are pushed through the rad so it's not that easy to see and he hasn't got any spares. CAB
  8. Hello Enquiring for a mate with a Zetec conversion..... He has a new 2.0 L Zetec and and a new standard 1.8 K series sized radiator. The fan is fitted to the front of the rad and pushes air through. I'm going to check that the blades are on the correct way around for the direction of travel later. In traffic the fan stays on and the temp creeps up to over 100 deg C (103-105-ish). Once on the move it cools down again, he has never been in traffic long enough for the fan to cut out but it seems to get a bit too hot. I have got him to jack the front of the car up and bleed the system, he got a lot of air out last night and about 0.5 L of additional coolant. Hopefully this will sort it out. Does anyone else have the same experience with the Zetec? Regards CAB

  10. Jon I think that all long cockpit cars have a three position pedal box. My old (90H reg) had only 2 (I think) my 2002 car has 3. CAB
  11. Hello James I did pretty much what Steve has described over Christmas. There are a few additional notes on page 4 of the following topic that might help mate the engine and box back together. Good luck. Search for: Damn CRB or use the following: http://www.blatchat.com/T.asp?id=84842&pn=4&ps=15&c= CAB
  12. Thanks Chris I will pass the information on. I know he has sent pictures to Raceline to show them where it is fouling. CAB
  13. Hello A friend of mine is fitting a Raceline Zetec in place of a X-flow. He is fitting the engine to a Ford type 2 gearbox. He has modified the Raceline supplied sump as instructed but he is having trouble fitting the original X-flow starter motor. I think the solenoid is hitting either the engine or exhaust (I can't remember which). Has anyone else done this conversion and if so did they have to change the starter motor? Thanks CAB
