Emailed them a week ago and haven't had a reply. I haven't chased as I got the answers I needed from the community, but I am a bit dissapointed.

Thanks for the confirmation. I managed to speak with someone at Caterham in the parts department (still no email reply from the build support email address!) who to be fair, went through my records and called me back to tell me that they are in pack 30P012B (pack 49) which I have as opposed to 30P012A which the 2015 guide refers to (and I don't have). I too had come to the conclusion that they would probably be the 3 M8x45 and 1 M8x50 which they confirmed. I'll source my own M8x45 bolts to make sure have 4 alike! I get the impression that this will be the first of many times I think "Why didn't they just say that in the instructions!"

Could someone please confirm what bolts I need for fitting the engine rubbers to the chassis? I assume M8, but don't know which pack to source them from. My kit contained a small box labelled engine that had the mounts, rubbers, gearbox mount and the 1/2 UNF bolts, but no bolts for the rubbers. I've emailed buildsupport at caterham but have radio silence!

Thanks everyone. It's not a case of being willing to take the risk, or being able to afford to cover the loss (I wish!). It's a case of I didn't realise that being able to get car insurance for a car that hadn't yet been built was a thing. I'll give MSM a call and see what their quote looks like.

How common is insuring the kit prior to build completion? I have a kit in my garage and hadn't considered insuring before completion, but now thinking I should as I'm sure my home insurance wouldn't stretch that far if the bits were stolen from the garage!!

I took delivery of a new kit last Thu and was surprised to find it came with 15" Avon ZZS. Manufactured last July. The picking list suggests that they had 66 in stock at the time of picking!

That's a relief. I didn't order a set as my caterham hasn't arrived. but I will definitely have a set from the next batch to put on the shelf ready for when my kit arrives some time in April!!

I too have just finalised the spec and paid 2nd deposit for a 420R SV. I wish I could have resisted the options list to only £4k! 😲
