  1. Adrian, I have a set of four MB alloys that maybe of interest, they are in excellent condition with bright alloy rims which are straight and true with no dents or marks on them, the centres are magnesium painted black. The wheels are the desirable 9J (rear) and 8J with the correct offset, the rears being slightly wider really fill the arches well. Wheels are currently fitted with Kumho Ecsta V700 tyres, these are 235/45/13 and 215/50/13 and have been used on a very few wet trackdays – I can measure the tread depth more accurately but are about 4mm. If these are of interest PM me. Thanks, Chris

  18. Hi, Good luck with the sale of your car. I would be interested in purchasing the shower cap, if you would like to pm me, I'm just up the road in York. Cheers, Chris
  19. Nicolas, Not sure if you got fixed up with a cage but if you check the 'For Sale' section I've just posted an advert for one. I'm in Kent Saturday if that helps. Best Regards, Chris
  20. OK, thanks - I'll check the wanted section.
  21. Caterham double D cage for imperial S3 Fitted to a 2003 Superlight, believe the correct description is an Academy double D cage as it’s the one that slots over the chassis rail and bolts through (not the SLR cage that fits on the outside of the chassis) hence allowing the side screens to be used. In ‘as new’ condition being only fitted for a short time, complete with the manufactures ‘Caged’ ID sticker showing the MSA number. Based in York but travel across the UK so can help with delivery. Believe they are over £1000 new so looking for £450 Chris Tel 07810 377737
  22. Thank you for all the replies. I have had a little time over the weekend to investigate further, I removed the air-filter, back plate and throttle bodies so that I could better see the rear of the water pump / thermostat. A fellow member who built a similar powered car a number of years ago suggested I removed and inspected the thermostat but even with the above removed am struggling to find it. The bottom (large) hose from the radiator goes directly into the back of the water pump (with a tee piece off into the expansion bottle), the smaller hose from the water pump goes directly to the heater control valve. On the return side, the output from the heater goes via the diverter valve down into the solid water rail with a sender at the rear of the engine (brown multi plug) then another sender (single wire – gauge sender?) then into a large hose into the top of the radiator. There is another small hose from the expansion bottle back into the inlet manifold which I have removed so as to clean the non-return ball valves (thank you Silver Machine) – it did seem to be gunged up. I’m now intending to pressure test the system again now that it is drained from coolant (to eliminate a false reading caused by an airlock) but would like to find the thermostat location is this contained within back of the water pump? One final thing – I assume unrelated, by the inlet manifold between cylinders 2 and 3 there was a foam air filter pointing down, this had disintegrated so will replace but was wondering what the correct term is for it (picture below). Once again, thanks for all the help. Chris
  23. Jonathan, Photo below; Thanks for the instructions. Best Regards, Chris
