  1. I used them last year to do a number of jobs on my K series. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Even gave me a courtesy car while working on mine. I’m Glasgow based and would go back there! Highly recommended. And some useful YouTube videos on their YT page.
  2. Can anyone tell me the size of the locknuts which hold the Caterham Aero filler on? Managed to lose two while fitting. Duh!
  3. I've checked and both the fuel hose and sender gasket are in poor shape. Ordered replacements so hopefully that's it solved. Tank seems OK. Thanks for all your suggestions and support. Great club resource.
  4. Thanks again. I'm going to check that gasket tomorrow.
  5. There is no liquid showing anywhere. I'll have a closer look at the gasket. Checking the tank itself is a major operation. It's always filled with E5.
  6. Caterham Roadsport SV 2006. There's a very strong smell of petrol in the boot after the car has been filled up. Smell gets into cabin. Lasts for a number of days. No overspill, all hoses tight and no drips anywhere. Breather pipe is fitted and clear. Any suggestions appreciated.
  7. This was fitted along with a Wosp starter motor which had to be returned, so shows scuffs from fitting but otherwise unused. Part number is 30E225A. (Library image). £40 inc. postage in UK
  8. The new motor is the only K model supplied by Redline and Demon Tweeks etc. so should be correct. It has the same number of teeth as the old one (10). The bottom of the flywheel teeth are just higher than the rest of the ring. Difficult to see in the photo but there is a very slight ridge up to the teeth so the bottom of the troughs are just slightly raised above the shiny area to the outside so should not get caught on a ridge coming out. I'll check the clearance as a possibility.
  9. Yes it was. Sorry, should have mentioned that!
  10. 2006 Roadsport SV K series. Starter motor was faulty so WOSP LMS430 was supplied and fitted. Pinion does not fully retract when engine starts and seems to stay on edge of flywheel (see polished rim in photo). Motor was fully seated and aligned. New starter faulty or any suggestions welcome?
  11. Not unhelpful at all. The garage who checked the battery suggested the same thing!
  12. I have a very basic multimeter. Not sure how to proceed from here. My knowledge is as basic as the multimeter. How can I check for bad switch connection? The red ignition light comes on every time.
  13. My 2006 K series has a very occasional electrical glitch. Occasionally on turning the key the ignition light comes on but engine does not turn over to start (pressing the starter button!). There is a very quiet buzzing / clicking sound and the rev counter and speedo needles vibrate anti-clockwise. nothing else. Could the sound be some relay not operating correctly? After a number of attempts it seems to work again. There has been over 2 weeks between these occurrences. very intermittent. Any suggestions welcomed.
  14. Just wondering if anyone has a Softbits RE bag for an SV they would like to sell. I know... hens teeth :)
  15. I found this NGK chart which lists all their original spark plugs and Iridium upgrades. https://www.ngkpartfinder.co.uk/assets/Uploads/NGK_Upgrades.pdf
  16. Can anyone confirm that NGK BKR6EIX-11 is an upgrade replacement for NGK PFR6N-11 for a 1.8 K Series (2006)?
  17. Thanks all. Rainexpert 5's it is..... for our Scottish weather :)
  18. Newbie question and have trawled site for answers without success, sorry. Recently bought a 2006 RoadSport SV with185/60/R14 tyres. Due to their age these need replaced (DOT 1906). I know it's subjective but looking for suggestions for a road tyre (not track) for this car on these rims.
  19. I thought they probably were but wanted to make sure first. Thanks. Only nuts are the driver and passenger then
  20. Assembly guide would be great thank you. It's 4 point harnesses which I have already bought so just to fix them. Should be pretty straightforward if there are no retaining nuts.
  21. New boy question. I've just bought a 2006 Roadsport SV and plan to replace the original Caterham harnesses for obvious reasons! Are they only bolted in or are there any retaining nuts under the vehicle at the tunnel or at any of the fittings? I can't get under the vehicle to check this.
