  9. Update thanks to a new prrt from Jerry Auton all seems sorted. Now the puzzle - original prrt purchased from motor factors having asked for the 82 deg stat but was given an 88 but they couldn't get an 82. so purchased an 82 oem from Rimmer Bro which was fitted but I had the above problem with.. Jerry ordered one off eBay which is now fitted however it's black but has 78 stamped on the stat inside - outcome is engine warms up, bottom of rad and hose get hot, rad fan starts at 94 as shown on live events on emerald software, temp drops to 89 and fan stops - 3 cycles and all looks fine - road test tomorrow. didnt think you could get a 78 prrt - but all is good
  10. Thanks Mankee So does the prrt open due to pressure on higher revs? I have it piped up the same as a couple of other cars - t piece in top hose, t down to prrt straight connection next to angled connection, angled connection to engine via j hose, straight connection opposite one from t piece to bottom of radiator. I can't understand why the 82 prrt isn't opening before the 92 on rad stat starts the fan. i had a standard rad but have now got a new Radtec with larger fan
  11. Hi Mankee, now running a 82 Land Rover prt set up with the emerald showing 92 - 97. main concern being the fan comes on and hardly goes off ( on at 92 off at 87) unless steady driving for a good few miles - give it a few beans and it's back on, but radiator and bottom hose only warm. Can't be airlock because if you disconnect fan and allow temp to get up to 105 then stat opens and radiators/bottom hose gets hot. been confusing myself as if you check how a thermostat works ( direction of flow etc) then in the standard rover position and the land rover prt it appears that when it opens it allows cold water straight over the spring/wax so closing it again - my way of thinking is qed remote stat or Mankee home brew puts stat in correct orientation to allow better control. by the way it's running with 189.9 with the airbox and 200.3 without and 162 torque - sure there's more if I match the inlet and outlet ports better and If I confirm the accuracy of the rolling road I used as it was local and a friend of my eldest - much better that it was
  12. What's should the optimum water temp be that the ecu picks up? ie. From the water rail on a k series
