  1. How often should this be replaced - does it deteriorate a lot over time? Or the more miles you do?
  2. Does the reversing light switch come out at the back of the gbox underneath? I think in may be the electrical connection box that is loose and knocking? Sound about right to anyone? How/where is it supposed to be attached. Not keen under there even on axle stands.
  3. Doesn't seem to be speed related per say. As with most noises, hard to pinpoint its source. Will start with a look under.
  4. Developed a v annoying noise from around the tunnel (I think, as a bit hard to pin down). Heard when moving (in or out or gear), appears worse over uneven surfaces. Doesn't sound mechanical to me, more link a cable or something slapping ali skin? Leather tunnel cover and carpeted, so hard to investigate from there, though feels like it may have inspection hole under the carpet, drivers side. Not sure I'll see much from underneath the car. 2005 1.8 k series roadsport. Any thoughts please?
  5. split pins per above post on mine!
  6. do you have a plan for Normandy - I'm thinking of a trip this summer hols.

its back, all sorted, rear end, new tank etc all painted. I paid for the new hose/filter etc. thanks to townley panel and paint! bar a minor dispute about paying for it to be delivered back to me direct line where pretty good. now where's the sunshine?
  9. see other post re rear shunt. Anyway new tank required , so whilst its being done is there anything else worth doing or checking??? I'm going to get the flexi fuel hoses replaced, even if the insurer won't pay for the parts etc (especially as the sender gasket was perished and I had just replaced it).

what a great day at the 30th bash, ruined on way home by a tintop running into the back of us!!! no body hurt, and looking not too serious. Hopefully thier insurer will pay etc. wheel cover trashed, but looks like its dented the tank too, where the carrier bolts got shunted, and bent the rear bodywork where the carrier and centre y piece attaches. any thoughts what might else be b*****d!????
  12. Red 7 went by as we walked in town.
  13. My boot floor had just enough space around the filler to slide it high enough up, and at an angle to get to the screws and get the sender out to replace the gasket. Mine pesished too! 6 odd quid from Caterham parts.
  14. Just has to replace the gasket on on the fuel tank sender - perished! So the hoses will be next.
  15. looks like it was the dreaded clutch pin shorting - so far, no more blown fuses. THANKS.
