  1. As far as I know it's an MBE unit for the Sigma engine.

It has a 'Super Seven 1600' label on the top. I assume the mapping is specific to the Jenvey heritage throttle bodies.

    Which is not great !

  2. Yeah my UK Super Seven 1600 has a standard OBD-II port behind the rubber grommet above my right knee.

I got the cheap Foxwell scanner from Halfords and it works fine! Gives you both live data readings and stored error messages.

  3. So at Gatwick they drained the system and checked it all out. They reckon that it was all fine and no air lock. We shall see over the next couple of weeks.

The Gatwick service team were actually very good. I arrived just after 7am (had to get around the M25), and by 7:45 the service guy was already there and they started work on it. They fixed a couple of things and by midday I was on my way.

  4. So the coolant level on my brand new car, a SS1600 (Sigma 275), is varying a lot from week to week.

It was at Max when I picked it up, then when I checked the following week it was at Min.

Topped it up, and then the week after it was way over Max, almost brimming, so took some out.

Now this week it's back down way below Min again. It's all over the place !

Can't see any leaks, checking when cold. Is it meant to vary with heater use maybe ?

  5. So the indicator relay was easy to identify by the noise and touching the case. It's on the bottom left of the board (an unmarked relay).

Haven't been able to identify the one that hangs down as yet. I tried all the lights and other electrics but couldn't feel it doing anything.

I'll need to remove it and see what doesn't work..

  6. Yep that's correct as I see it in the car, a Super Seven 1600.

The centre row of spare fuses kinda threw me initially. Not exactly great labeling in the Owners Handbook.

Do you thing the little yellow pins are used to release the fuses ? Kinda tricky to get at.

  7. So apparently the layout of the fuses is from the Fig 24 '170 fuse box' of the online Owners Manual.

You have to rotate the diagram, and then ignore the centre row of fuses as they are spares. The numbering system then matches up to the list of fuses in the table for the 275/280.

So fuse 1 is the bottom left running to fuse 10 on the bottom right. Then 11 is top right going to 20 on the top left. That was obvious.. Now just need to figure out how to remove them.
