  1. Hi Stu.  That's good advice and I'm trying to make sure that everything I do is done properly.  Most of the original loom is still good but the previous owner has cut a lot of cables in order to remove the wiring before the chassis went off for grit blasting and re powder coating and paneling, therefore lots os loose wires going nowhere.  And although I've got two wiring diagrams the car doesn't exactly match either and the (two) petrol pumps at the rear, on the seat back bulkhead, don't have a power supply and the fuel injection loom is obviously not shown, and he wasn't going to have a screen or wipers just an aero screen so he cut out that, and the immobiliser, etc, etc.

I'm trying to keep calm and approaching it with the philosophy " how to eat an elephant - one bite at a time.............".

  2. I need the services of a mobile auto electrician or enthusiastic but competent amateur who can help me sort out and reassemble a '95 SuperSprint that's been 'modified' a couple of times (so no wiring diagram is an exact fit!). St Albans.

    Thanks

    Paul

  4. I'm just re-wiring the battery, master switch, starter motor cables and not sure what size cable to use.  The engine is a tuned 2 litre Zetec and the starter motor is an Edge Hitachi type.  I reckon 16mm (40sq.mm) 110amp would do the job, but just wanted to check to see if anybody actually knew the answer.

    Thanks

  5. Hi

The photos are excellent, thanks. Just what I need (for now, but I might need to come back later!!).  I do need a wiper motor fixing bracket if anyone's got a spare...... though I can easily make one.

  6. Hi Jonathan

Thanks I've got most of those bits but would dearly love to buy the appropriately coloured wires so that I can repair/re-make the loom with correct bits of cable.  Do you know where I can get these multicoloured wires in one or two meter lengths?

  7. Hi

I'm re-building a '95 SuperSprint I bought in bits and having problems trying to figure out what goes where behind the dash.

Firstly, what is this aluminium hoop for? I presume it's a sub-frame to hold the wiring, but where and how does it fix at each end?

Secondly, where does the wiper motor fix (and which way round)?

A few photos would be really helpful, or if you live local to St Albans, perhaps I could visit and have a look at the way yours is put together.

  8. Hi.  I've got to look into transporting a rolling chassis (and lots of boxes of bits) from Brighton to my home town of St Albans so I'm sending this message out as a request to anybody who has a trailer they could lend me or know from where I can hire one.
