Have booked car in at Northampton Motor Sport to have the ecu Remapped/replaced to stop the pop and bangs and move the power curve further down for road use. Whist they have it fit a lighter flywheel and clutch assy. and a few other associated jobs.Troy and Martin are very helpful to talk to and am impressed with their knowledge. Their charges are very reasonable also.

Seat cupra forum one among many.
When I first posted about using Mr Sheen on the car I got a lot of people telling me it would damage the paint
well I personally have used it for years and had nothing but ( very shiny, good beading and easy to clean/remove dead flys from ) paintwork in fact I swear by it
I use it on the paintwork, wheels, black vinyl trim, glass, tyres and on my company car I even use it on the leather seats
I think I started off using it on the interior and dash and accidentally got some on the paintwork and got a good result
I have googled it and found that I am not alone, there are lots of people using it to good effect

Try the old long screwdriver to your ear test like a stethescope and move it from one component to another while driveshaft is turning.

You could degrease the shaft thread and nuts and use locktight but what price peace of mind fitting new nuts correctly torqued for a few quid.

B&Q 3ft angle iron drilled for studs. Once you do it you always have it as a tool

Interesting but for me its not worth the benefit for road use unless your removing the engine for another reason.

Thanks to for all for input, think I will take advice and live with it, have other spend priorities.
Gear issues!!

A common problem with gear selection was the clutch release bearing wearing into the clutch pressure plate diaphram fingers try to get a borescpoe inspection into the bell housing or may need to split engine and gearbox and inspect.
