  1. I think removing the battery is more for the old style battery chargers and liquid lead acid batteries.  With modern trickle chargers that are computer controlled like the   Optimate and Ctek and with gel, AGM batteries there is no need to remove them.

  4. The salesman at Caterham confirms it has Canbus and that owners charge the battery through cigar/aux socket. I have an Optimate I got for my BMW R1200RT that I recently sold and it was Canbus and used the aux socket to charge the battery as it was Canbus or direct to battery. It should work for the Caterham then.

  5. Swap one pad from each side but rub all the pads on a piece of emery on a piece of glass or something very flat. Put copper grease on back off pad and emery both disc surfaces to remove glaze so everything is balanced.

  6. Disconnect the handbrake cable at the calipers. Pump the pedal to adjust pads to disc. Measure gap between pads and disc to ensure minimum pad travel then connect and adjust handbrake cable. Needless to say all brake swivel or pivot points need to be free.

  7. Hi from newby

I shall be taking delivery of a 2019 270S with a 135bhp 1.6 Ford Sigma engine. Will the car have a diagnostic port and I presume it does not have a CanBus system.
