  1. May well take that route, John
  2. Very interest in this thread. I have the same questions and concerns - there is a lot of choice and a wide range of prices, but how do we know which are the best? I have 2 Jeeps that always get MOT'd between Christmas and New Year. Currently, both have replacement LED bulbs in the existing 7inch round fittings. They've been installed for years and give a great beam pattern with a brighter, whiter light. I've been very pleased so a bit peeved that I might need to spend hundreds on replacing them. Then in the summer I've the got the 5.75inch units in the Caterham

Whereabouts are you, Dan? I'm kinda presuming that collection would be better that postage
  4. Thanks! Don't use facebook but will take a look
  5. A pair of front clam wings and brackets would be of interest....
  6. #30 Damn fine post, sir! My Caterham only has a 1.4 K-Series but I know full well that the weakest link in the chain is me.
  7. Agreed Jonathan. I'm asking myself the question "if there was a simple additive that eliminated all of the issues of E10, and also reduced friction & cleaned the engine, then why isn't it already in the fuel?"
  8. Just purchased a RaceX on the basis of the comments here, and very impressed. At least I now know that its the TPMS that is at fault, not the tyre.

  10. "Little Metal Box Beside Wiper Motor" On a Caterham 170 that would be the engine

    Flared wings

Looking for a pair of flared wings, plus associated brackets etc. to fit a 2010 K-series S3, so probably metric chassis? Fancy a change as a Winter project.
  12. I successfully fitted my Caterham high level brake light a few months ago. That piece of neoprene is still sitting on my desk. Did you get the sub-loom as well? https://caterhamparts.co.uk/looms/345-sub-loom-high-level-brake-light.html?search_query=sub+loom+high+level&results=149 I found that it does make the wiring easier and neater
  13. Agreed - LED bulbs can be very variable in performance. On the left a filament bulb and on the right some cheap LED from fleabay... On the left the same filament bulb and on the right a decent, and more expensive, LED from a Amazon supplier... Not all LEDs are made equal.
  14. Great choice of vehicle BTW, whatever steering wheel you decide is right for you
  15. Depends what is on there to start with. If it is a 3-bolt then you are correct but in my case it fitted the existing boss...

    Klaxton Horn

It was many years ago in my misspent youth
  17. I found the wheel that came with the car as slightly too small and thick rimmed. It was replaced with a 13inch Astrali just like you are looking at. If I was doing it again I would get a dished version as I had to get a spacer to help it clear my thighs.
  18. If that is the unit with a screw at one end and a tab at the other then I believe they are the same as fitted to early range rovers as well as Caterhams and can be picked up from a few places, including eBay. For example (and in no way a recommendation) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162200227949?hash=item25c3e3106d:g:9lIAAOSw-dxalqz1 If you're looking for clear lenses, this is what I purchased https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324250262125?hash=item4b7ed25a6d:g:2X8AAOSwYaZfKTMb but have amber LED bulbs

Are you saying that my Dukes of Hazzard Dixie air horns are not legal?
  20. Thanks Stu I like the idea of using the existing stanchion fixings, but not the SPA style mirror. I really like the look of an "old fashioned" circular chrome mirror. The Carbuilder mirror, being convex, is definitely an improvement on the existing items.
  21. So, toying with the idea of different side mirrors. I've purchased one of these https://www.carbuilder.com/uk/round-clip-on-mirror-with-flat-plate-mounting as I've heard that they can be attached the the windscreen stanchion. I've had a go and the thickness of the stanchion means that I cannot fit the rubber strips. It's metal-to-metal contact only. Is this correct, or is there a better way? I want to do this right as the last thing I want is a side mirror flying off at speed with unknown and undesirable consequences. Thanks all.
  22. I've got a "bM2 battery monitor" (search Amazon or eBay) on a couple of cars. Combined with the phone app it allows me to monitor the battery voltage, charging status etc. Works well for me
