  1. I am having exact same issue. I suspect the nose cone design has changed over time and the bottom chin of the new design does not go down as much for the older cars. In fact, mine does not even cover the lower bolts of the wishbones. I suppose if that really bother you (brackets are showing outside of the nosecone), you can saw off the brackets and rivet a set of new brackets on the inside (Caterham sold them https://caterhamparts.co.uk/brackets/1707-lower-dzus-fastener-bracket-nosecone.html?search_query=nosecone+bracket&results=250).
  2. Hi Stephen, Thanks for the suggestion. I have been shopping with Redline. A huge shout-out to Chris at Redline for his extensive knowledge of parts and great support. Wish we could have such a great vendor here in US. Thanks, Patrick
  3. I like the colorful Seven's (orange, yellow, etc.) but at the same time I admire those in bare aluminum polished to a mirror finish. I am going for the latter on mine, just to save a few dollars and some weight. I would highly recommend Zephyr. I bought a starter kit from them and tried it on a piece of aluminum. As a newbie I was able to polish that to a mirror finish in less than half and hour. Check out their video on an Airstream. Impressive! https://zephyrpro40.com/polishing-resources/
  4. Sorry for the confusion. I am referring to the bush to mount on the shock tower. The shaft that goes through the roll-bar foot plate. It is 7/8" in diameter and the only polyurethane bush that I can find is 12mm.
  5. Hi all, Does anyone know where I can source a rear shock mount polyurethane bush for a live axle Seven? The damper shaft diameter is 7/8" (~11mm). Superflex has one that is almost a perfect fit except the ID of the bush is 12mm which gives a bit of free play (they used to make one with the same part number but the ID was 11mm). Thanks, Patrick
  6. Wrightpayne: Yes, the shocks go through the front foot plates and bolted up. However, there is a 1/32" gap between the foot plate and the turret now. Per suggested, I unbolted the rear and seated the front properly. The rear is off by A LOT! I reckon nothing shorts of a custom rollbar would do. I could think of two solutions: One, use some plastic tie-downs in the back (just kidding). Or shim the front with some washers.
  7. Hi Tazio and Wrightpayn, thanks in advance for your help. Here is a picture showing the gap between the rollbar's big foot and the chassis. Here is a photo showing the gap between the rollbar's big foot and the chassis. Another photo that shows how the rear legs are mounted. I wonder if I should mount the front foot first to make sure it completely flat and then enlarge the hole in the back and use a bigger washer? 8. Hi all, I have a live-axle Seven and I am trying to install a FIA rollbar (single cross brace) on it. However, once I mount the two rear legs on the back of the boot, the front two legs do not sit flat on the front of the suspension turrets. There is a gap of about 1/32" to 1/16". It seems like either the mounting holes in the boot are in the wrong place or rear legs are too long. Did anyone see a similar problem before? How would you solve that? Thanks, Patrick

  10. Thanks all for your replies. They are very helpful.
  11. Dear all, First wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season. I am trying to revive an old live axle project sitting in the back of my shed for more than a few years. I notice the differential pinion is wet and leaks a little. I think I need to replace the seal behind that. I tried locating that part from Caterham parts website but they don't have it available. Could someone tell me where I can find it? How could I tell whether mine is an Ital or Marina axle? I saw some on eBay but I need to know which axle I have. Thanks for your help. Regards, Patrick
