  1. I bought my 7 last July, it's an S3 1998 Supersport with K series 1600 engine, 6 speed box and AP Suretrac LSD. I want to do my own servicing but would like confirmation/recommendations for the correct oils and fluids to use. The VIN p,ate on the car references oils and fluids but probably things have moved on since 1998! Coolant - Comma Xtream red. I cannot find this. Is Comma Xtream G30 the same thing? It says in the spec that the colour is violet? Engine oil, I'm proposing to use Comma motorsport 5w-50. Gearbox oil! I think I've read that Red Line MTL 75-80 GL4 is recommended for the Caterham 6 speed box? Diff/LSD - car says EP 90 but I recall reading somewhere that LSD's need a special oil? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  2. What should the oil pressure be on a 1.6 k series? I have a '98 Supersport with dry sump and it shows 2 at tick over and 4 at higher revs.
  3. Thanks Stu, I'll check the pedal position, yes I think it's a de dion. im hoping a Tillett or bag seat may do the trick as I don't really want to lower the floors. Regards Pete
  4. It's a 1998 with LSD. Pete
  5. Thanks for all your comments and offers. I think we will see if anyone locally (Devon) will let him sit in theirs. Pete
  6. Hi Stu, thanks for your reply. It's a 1998 car and I think it has an LSD. Pete
  7. Hi everyone this is my first post on the forum. I've been looking to buy a 7 for a while and have found one that ticks all the boxes, well almost! There is just one problem. My 27 ear old son would like to drive it occasionally but it's an S3 and he's 6' 3". With the drivers seat all the way back the cockpit is still a little too short for him. The vendor suggested replacing the leather seat with a moulded one? Anyone have any experience of doing this? or any other tips would be appreciated. I'm not sure if it has an adjustable pedal box (I'll check with the vendor) and it has a 10" removable wheel.
