My 1.8 vx made a horrible noise on start up this morning. Does anyone have a part number for a starter motor? Just asking before i get in there with my torch. Thanks in advance. Andy.

My VX was doing this when i first bought it. The sump would even catch cats eyes it was that low. New set of adjustable Nitron dampers all round sorted it. Not a cheap fix at around £1700 but its so nice to go out and not have to worry about every little bump in the road.

After closer inspection today i've noticed that the disc thingy which the rotor arm screws into has a small "o"ring on it. Rather than just change the "o"ring i would like to change the whole part. Anyone have any idea the disc thingy is called? Anyone have a clue what im on about? Or a part number would be nice.

Thanks for replying, Checked all of the suggestions apart from checking the camshaft for wear. Has anyone replaced one? Just wondering if i shouldn't tap it all the way in?

Hello everyone. I recently noticed a leak coming from the rear camshaft oil seal on my 8v vx 1800. After 3 different seals including a smear of sealant around the last attempt i still have a leak! Has anyone else out there had the same problem? Thanks Andy.
