    Ignition light...

Thank you again chaps! I have another issue to deal with now, but will come back to this and let you know... I really appreciate the time and effort you are going into to help me...and I'm learning here PS, where should I find the connector as mentioned earlier... It would be worth locating the 14 pin plug/socket that connects to the main vehicle loom. It may be the case that the brown/yellow doesn't make it to the other side...

    Ignition light...

Thank you for the advice...will report back when I've had a look! Water temp does work. Water and Oil pressure/temp gauges were fitted more recently. The only other thing that doesn't work is the immobiliser light, but I'm not convinced it has an immobiliser! Cheers chaps!

    Ignition light...

It's a 2001 Dedion kit which Raceline built and used to presumably work out how to fit the Duratec engine etc. It was SVA'd late 2003 and then went into private ownership. Does K mean K series engine? If so, that was I think the engine in use at the time which was supplied with most kits... Email just received thanks! Not looked yet, but a 2001 build manual could be handy please...

    Ignition light...

The black wires are as you have stated. The Blue/Green isn't connected to the alternator, but has the wire that isn't connected! IG = White S or D = Brown/Yellow Blue/Green = not connected S = Battery Sense IG = Ignition switched supply, which I can trace back to the switch... L = Warning light, again I can look at the back of the tacho... D = Don't use! Writing it as above, to help me make sense of it!!

    Ignition light...

It does and as you I was expecting 7. The Blue/Grey and White/Brown don't have anything on the other side, so just 7 wires connected...

White/Red * Brown/Yellow Green/Blue Black White/Black Blue/Grey Yellow/Green * White/Brown White Tracer colour second and the asterix indicates a thicker wire than all the others.

    Ignition light...

I've had a look today and the grey connector block at the bottom of the pic has the 2 black wires from the alternator going into it corresponding with a Brown/Yellow wire and White wire on the opposite side of the connector which has 7 pins in total. The odd thing is that another Black wire opposite a Blue/Green wire was clipped out of the way by the coil pack...but it's the same size wire, connectors and heatshrink so I presume was done at the same time as the other 2, but disconnected (it's long enough to reach the alternator...! Had another look at the alternator, but can't se any marks near the terminals. Thanks Nick Oh, not got round to testing the voltage on those alternator connections yet, but I will...

    Ignition light...

Not sure why my pics end up rotated 90 degrees left, but the pic shows the connector to the rev counter including the brown/yellow. The 2 wires I'm holding are added later by the looks of it...

Ok, so that spare should be connected to the ignition light? Will look for the Brown/Yellow...

    Ignition light...

There is a spare spade connector with no markings. It's just visible on the photo. Those 2 black wires look the same as 2 coming from the back of the ignition switch... Having double checked, including from underneath, those are the only wires!

    Ignition light...

Thank you again gents! Had a look at the alternator and attached photo...wiggled the 2 black wires to no avail! Will have a look at the wiring into the tacho and compare with the info given by John and compare... This energiser feed that you mention Jonathan...presume it tells the car that the alternator is working, so the warning light goes off, once the engine is running? /sites/default/files/images/users/48894/14911915-644B-4A22-AF76-61B09AABA00D.jpeg

    Ignition light...

Thanks for looking though Jonathan! PS: I suspect that the mystery light is the unused ECU warning light... or dampness indicator... Is this normally the bottom right of the 3 in a row? Will have a look at the alternator wiring asap and go from there...

    Ignition light...

Will upload photos in a while... Not revved it that much, but if that explains the top slightly bigger light, I can test it next time No separate shift lights and hadn't even though that it would have that feature...thank you!

    Ignition light...

Hi Jonathan I've only had it a few weeks, so don't know about whether it's ever worked! Duratec engine, it was Raceline's development car originally! I have a pic of the tacho, but need to look up how to upload it... Have a multi-meter and am a capable wire wiggler! Will have a look for the Brown/Yellow... Thank you!
  20. Guys, would appreciate your help! 2003 car with no ignition light! Ignition turns on and I've driven the car 200 miles with the headlights on, so I'm confident that the alternator is working! Is is supposed to be one of the lights in the tacho? Tacho has 3 lights across the bottom. Left is main beam. Middle is indicator and Right doesn't seem to do anything...yet!! There's a fourth light at the top that also doesn't do anything ... Not been able to find anything in the manual... Thanks!
