  1. Im going to take a look tomorrow. I dont suppose anyone knows a good welder around the Sutton/ Banstead / Redhill area?
  2. Thats good news, exhaust has a nice note and the revs are gained nice and freely so was not keen to change anything. I'll get a rag and try and find if there is a leak. In terms of products to reseal. Any recommendations, how is the Holts Gum Gum and Exhaust repair bandage? Halfords have in stock so could sort tomorrow if there is a leak. Or is it a waste of time doing anything other than getting a welder to take a torch to it.
  3. Ok so look for an exhaust leak and then Lambda sensor. Any tips on finding exhaust leaks and likely places on the Caterhams. Is it normally on the manifold?
  4. Iv tried rescanning in jpg and exporting to max resolution. Still looks bleary when I edited the post and reuploaded. Here are the PDF. Seemed to post clearer when I did that. IMG_20221028_0003.pdf IMG_20221028_0002.pdf
  5. I hadnt realised needed to be JPEG. Looked on the back of first MOT this year and it had the emissions on it. Missed it this morning. Here is IVA test 22 years ago also.
  6. Thanks for all the input. So the consensus seems to be. There is a cat. It might be the test station. The only thing is I have now taken it two stations. The first was a new one, the second is further a field from my new garage but I have taken to and its passed before. Kicking myself for trying to save 30mins each way. Both treated me like I was trying to pull a fast one. Saying id taken the cat out. Im a bit hesitant to pay another £55 to get accused of being an emissions villain! Is the next step replace the lambda sensor?
  7. I did notice on the way to the test centre the car was spluttering at lower revs which I had never noticed before. Wasnt exactly a misfire. Redline have asked me to identify if engine is using distributor or coil pack. From looking at the part this looks like a distributor. Am I right?
  8. Here are the pictures of the exhaust set up. How do I tell if the cat has been removed. Do I have to remove it from the hangers and pull exhaust off?
  9. So could be CATs been removed at some time in the past and testers have turned taken a view test not required until now, or it could be that Cats still in place and problem with the emissions equipment on car.
  10. The only other emissions document is the IVA test sheet. None of the other tests I have, failed it on emissions and did not include the sheet. IMG_20221028_0002_0.pdf
  11. I'll just nip to garage to take a picture. I'll take one of the engine bay too. Can someone help identify if the engine is EU2 or EU3. Just in case I do need a Lambda sensor. Here is the latest Emissions test. IMG_20221028_0001.pdf
  12. My Caterham just failed the MOT on Lambda part of the emissions test. The garages think its because of a Cat removal. Iam not aware that the CAT has been removed before i purchased it. How can i confirm if it is or not? As I was driving to the test the car was definitely a bit lumpy as it was warming up. Which I have never noticed before. From reading forum main advice seems to be replace Lambda and make sure it is warm upon arrival for test and tested soon afterwards. Is there anything else I can do to try and sort out. Most of my driving is on the road so dont want to keep it as a track only car. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks
  13. Thought I would update on how I got on, and say thanks for advice to everyone. The issue I had was I started on the offside rear and just tried to do that. When I next tackled it I tried both sides and found, with the handbrake adjuster completely loosened off, the nearside rear caliper was much easier to remove the handbrake cable. This in turn meant the offside caliper went a little slacker and I could then remove that side. From there the procedure was fairly easy to follow from the assembly guide and posts. The Caterham is now back on the road! I did have an issue getting my torque wrench into the wheel arch to torque two of the bolts to the correct tightness. Can anyone recommend a decent torque wrench that is quite short and fits into awkward spots.
  14. Thanks I will give that a go. I have only tried the one side at the moment. Hopefully other one will come off easier.
  15. Hi Jonathan Yes I have been using the assembly guide. It doesnt have enough detail for my knowledge. Need it a bit more step by step. I cant see how to access the lever to completely remove the the handbrake cable as this seems to be the only other thing I can do to get the bloody thing off the caliper.
  16. Im starting to attempt doing some spannering on the seven. I have some binding on my rear brakes. I have decided to renew the brakes all over with new calipers on the rear. I have removed the rear right caliper but have hit the snag of the handbrake cable not detaching from the caliper. I have loosened the plastic screw near the diff on the offside handbrake cable as far as it would go. No matter how much levering with screw drivers and pliers I still cant get the nearside hand brake cable off the caliper. I have searched youtube and this site for further ideas how to remove but am stuck. I cant see any way off accessing the hand brake lever to completely remove the cable. How is this done, without removing rivets or other fastened down surfaces? Any tips would be most useful or if anyone is nearby Carshalton, South London and could offer some advice that would be appreciated. T Thanks Phiroze

    Rear Fog Light

I very rarely drive caterham in dark so had not realised the switches to right of steering wheel control dip and full beam. Fog only works on dip. I broke plastic switch during a trackday, replaced switch put headlights into dip and voila the fog light illuminated. Ready fot MOT now. Fingers crossed!
  18. So its not an issue removing them even if IVA require. I suppose unless its an MOT item free to do as choose. Might take off clean up and then decide if old glue marks too visible or not.
  19. Thanks. Done the trick. A lot nicer with metal switches.
  20. Part has arrived. I ordered the metal one from r500. Tested it works but cant work out how to get old one off. Its hard to access and cant get at the nut at back. Is there a tool for turning the serated surround that is visible on dash? Pliers not working. Any advice appreciated.
  21. The rubber surround on front carbon wings are coming off. What sort of glue is best to reattach once iv removed and cleaned area? Thanks
  22. Thinking about it Im sure the one that snapped off was the one that clicks into either position. Being a clumsy oaf, metal will probably be best. Do you know the part number for the metal toggle lever by any chance? Might replace both so they match, if you have spring loaded part number also that would be great. Thanks
  23. Great I will check on the unbroken one when next at garage. Mine has the black plastic. thanks
  24. Hi I was at Hethel a few weeks ago and while unwinding the steering wheel through a corner my hand flew off somehow and snapped one of the plastic toggle switches to the right of the steering wheel on my dash. I think it is the headlight dip/ high toggle but im not sure as its a long time since I drove at night and last time I did I just left it on dip. It is the left hand of the two. I think this part should replace it but not sure. https://www.carbuilder.com/uk/knurled-ring-toggle-switch-on-on-changeover-double-pole I have a Caterham superlight year 2000 1.6 kseries with the Carbon dash. Could anyone confirm this is the right part. Thanks Phiroze
  25. Thanks. I'll get some and try finding a spot on frame pads / lift could sit. If it works i will post some pics.
