  1. I replaced mine with this from Burton and is great but a bit tricky calculating the spacers. I put a hole in the top of the bellhousing for bleeding pipe and made a plate up to cover the side where the arm normally goes with for tapped holes in the bell housing for caphead screws. I got custom hoses made up at Merlin Motorsport as the normal ones from Burton didn't come with a banjo connector for the girling master cyclinder I also got from Burton.

  2. I would go into Device Manager on Windows and have a look under "Ports (COM & LPT)", make sure the adapter is being seen correctly. If you right click it into properties check the device status. You will also find if you use a different USB port on your laptop the COM port number will change.

Also check on the Emerald ECU you are connecting to the comm port as there are two that look the same and aren't.

  3. Agree absolutely great day.....until my start motor went after lunch! Only upside was getting in the air conditioning sooner.

The track really showed how the cars handle and now have a few thoughts about what to tweak over the winter.

Look forward to doing it again at some point.

  4. Has anyone fitted a Raceco silencer to a BDR?

Trying to work out if the central inlet will work rather than side inlet without a major change to the angle the primaries come out at into the 4-to-1.

  5. Just looking at new oil now I have the gearbox back from Quaife after a service, they recommended using a fully synthetic GL3 or GL4 but not a GL5.

Does anyone use Fuchs TITAN SINTOFLUID SAE 75W-80?

If so what are your thoughts or anyone recommend anything else? I used to run a Mobile 1 but it has been 13 years since I last refilled it and oils seems to have changed a bit since then.

  6. If you get stuck on where to put an oil catch tank, I good a bicycle drinks holder and bolted it to the end of the footwell close to the tunnel and adapted a Karrimor aluminum drinks bottle. (Ignore the oil pipe from the tank to catch and from block they are back to front in this picture and since adjusted)

My oil filter is under my throttle bodies on a 5mm square of aluminum that is riveted to the top of the chassis and allows easy access from under the car. Check the direction of the flow on the bracket as the wrong way round you will struggle with a tight hose against the engine mount from the flow from the pump to the filter.
