  1. Unfortunately I don't have a photo, but this is roughly where it is located under the transmission cover.  To reach it from above, you may also have to remove the plate labelled (2).

Cover is awkward to get off as you'll have to remove the gear knob and may have to slacken off the handbrake via the adjuster attached to the side of the differential.

I doubt you'll be able to get to it from below as the prop shaft is in the way.

  2. I'm sure I've seen this subject discussed before but an struggling to find the thread.

My front carbon wings have white spots appearing (presumably water marks) and I'm looking for advice on how to get rid without having to remove or recoat the wings.

    Thanks in anticipation!

I fitted this to the fuse box cover, taking the supply from the existing permanent supply serving the cigarette lighter.  It has an inbuilt switch (the left hand button) so can be isolated to avoid draining the battery, although I have to leave it turned on when connecting my Ctek via the 12V port.

Also, I located the rear 12V supply cable tied under the tunnel cover, behind the handbrake and just forward of the Diff.  You'll probably have to take off the cover to gain access.

  4. Taking inspiration from David's original post, I've just installed similar although have fixed it into the fuse box cover and made use of the existing 12v supply to the original cigarette lighter, so avoiding having to make new connections to the battery.  The cigarette lighter is now also switched.

  5. On of my post build check, as advised by CC, the routing of the handbrake cable behind the hose was noted as being incorrect.  This had to be corrected to pass in front of the hose before the car went in for the IVA test.

I know it's not what you want, but a bit of black electrical tape, a hole punch and less than 5 minutes does the trick.  The total eclipse works a treat and the corona remains more than bright enough.  Top tip - make sure you're in your normal seated position when sticking it on.

  7. According to the build manual:

    Inner side panels  = 5/32" x 0.47"

    Stone Guards = 1/8" x 0.51"

I used a number of M3 washers to get the tool to fit in the fastener when fitting poppers for the floor mats and door strap.

  8. Hi John,

My stats are nowhere close to as impressive as yours! - 5,430 views from 501 visitors since publishing the blog in October 2019.  I had written up most of the entries before plucking up courage to let the world in on my ramblings!

For the benefit of others, it may be worth having a Blog directory somewhere here.  I tried to identify as many as I could and referenced in my blog -  https://cat310s.wordpress.com/2019/09/29/reference-material/ - but I'm certain there are more out there waiting to be enjoyed.

    David
