    I have 1700 crossflow tuned to about 136 bhp. Having trouble with too much noise! ie about 98 dba static test. Can someone advise me how I can get the noise level down, ideally I would like under 90 dba for Thruxton, but any reduction would be a help. It has the standard side exit exhaust.     I have a 7 Supersprint with approx 140 bhp at the flywheel. (tuned 1700 crossflow). At present it has standard road tyres, Uniroyal Rain Expert, which are 185/60/R14. Could someone recommend suitable tyres for track days and sprinting. Many Thanks, Russ

    Planning to do track days....7 club one at Castle Combe etc.....What measure of decibels should I expect from a Supersprint with a crossflow engine tuned by Vulcan to 140bhp? I plan to get it measured at Thruxton on 5 March, but anticipate problems...I think I'll be asking for advice on how to make it quieter....will let you know. Russ

    I also need tyres for 14 in wheels. Looking at the MSA Lists 1 a and 1b, (so I could do Gurston Hillclimb events, and maybe Castle Combe Sprints). Thinking that R888r's are a bit extreme dry, Would appreciate advice. Russ P

    Hi Mike, Thanks for pointing that out....my mistake,,again! I was reading 11.9.1.5, when in fact 11.6.2 actually applies..as you said. I'm pleased I asked the question. Will try for Avon ZZS, as you recommended, hopefully available in 185/60/14 Thanks again, Russ

    Sorry my mistake, should have said, MSA List 1A. To be included in Specialist Production Class. size will be 185/60/R14 But thanks for the useful info anyway. Russ P

    Hi All, I am a new member, with some racing experience, and have just bought my first Seven, a Series 3 with a 124 bhp crossflow motor. I need to change the tyres for a set in the MSA List 1, (to comply with hillclimb and sprint regs, ) for the Specialist Production Class. Can someone give me advice as to which tyres I should buy, to best suit the car, please? Many Thanks, Russ P
