  1. 4th gear, so 6k-ish rpm. No unusual conditions wind or gradient etc. Was fine afterwards, but did it again later
  2. Not at that position on the speedo in 4th (5 spd gearbox)!
  3. It was kind of a der-der-der-der when right foot down almost as if the fuel was cut when called for coupled with no acceleration.
  4. New 420R SV, 2600 miles. Was on the final 20 miles of a 100 mile run and on empty dual carriageway making (cough) good progress. Proceeded to accelerate from the 12.30pm position on the speedo through to the 2pm position, which was met with vibrations and lack of shove as if the car could no longer push itself through the air. Tried a couple of times and got the same. It was as if the fuel was down to fumes or it was on 2 cylinders. Came off slip road in 3rd, acceleration fine as it was when joining next dual carriageway. Up into 4th car accelerated through to 2pm position on speedo no problem. Slowed down for cameras and was able to repeat the above again when back up to speed. Everything else fine - fuel, temp, oil pressure etc . Gremlin or something wrong? Thanks a lot in advance.
  5. My car is new and whacks out a decent level of heat from the two vents. Feels warmest when speed is low, e.g. in 30/40 zones. If too hot at low speed I simply lower the fan setting. Would imagine it would be very hot with the hood on. I don’t intend on using the hood in dry weather, however cold it gets and so have bought a Gerbing heated jacket liner which is one of the best £200 I have ever spent.
  6. Thanks Tazio. The Rapfix isn’t too much more than the Lifeline one. Does the boss only come in the mustard yellow?
  7. Thanks. Meant the dash/lock tube. As the QR column has no steering lock section, I had crazy visions of it flapping around in the dash tube, but of course it is held in place with the upper/lower bushes. Assume same with the Rapfix column
  8. So if QR column fitted at factory, all other parts (e.g. ignition barrel, steering tube etc) are the same as if the fixed boss column fitted?
  9. thanks for the quick reply. So removing the fixed boss column removes the lock tube? Can the QR column simply be inserted without use of the lock tube?
  10. Have done some searching on here, but cannot be sure if the Caterham QR column is a straight swap for the current fixed boss column? I guess the main issue I am uncertain about is the current steering lock tube. Can the QR column be used with this? Car is 2018 420R Thanks a lot
  11. https://www.dpr-motorsport.com/ took my factory new seven there after 1000 miles and it was transformed.
  12. Just a basic question on the heater. Is an increasing level of heat provided as the valve control is increasingly pulled out? Or is it simply ON or OFF? Thanks
  13. Having got my new car yesterday and being used to the electronic parking brake in my daily car, I drove approx 1/4 mile with the handbrake on. It could not have been ratcheted on too hard as the car drove freely. I was only alerted to it by the smell and promptly released it. Any harm done here apart from scrubbing the rear pads in? Cheers
