  1. We have a pair of SENA tuff talks and they are very good, good as headphones and usefull for turn by turn guidance from your iphone when you get lost!
  2. I went the other way round and LSD without the shocks and set up made it understeer, now with the nitrons and set up plus the tracsport LSD its very neutral and perfect for me. So i'd also go the other way round and get shocks and set up first. I did both as i was getting the tracsport gearbox at the same time and so got it all done while car was out of action anyway.
  3. The Tracsport is mightily impressive, doesn't make any noise and sometimes the grip level is just unbelievable.
  4. which made it very similar to the 1st gear on the six speed box, but with the benefits of the longer 5th good luck finding a solution that works for you
  5. The bigger wheels make the gearing longer as opposed to shorter, i have 13's and 3.9 and a supersport R K. the 2.48 won't be too long, but there is a bit of gearbox whine in 2nd and 3rd for the semi helical. So for touring i guess that would be a good comprimise.
  6. another vote for tracsport, mine was built by road and race. It's my favourite thing about the car now. So much better gear change than the standard box and i can now get to over 40 without changing to 2nd.
  7. it looks like an ice covered zepplin at the moment, fingers crossed it works.
  8. I have a specialised covers Stormshield plus and its great, fits like a glove with pockets for the mirrors, lights and even the spare tyre is a perfect fit. For the winter I have just invested in a permabagto try and keep everything in good nick, i'll see how that goes after its first winter with me.
  9. as above, the box is the 2.8 box with long input shaft and the ratios above. A lot depends on wheel diameter, final drive ratio and what you are looking to achieve I just got the tracsport 2.48, 1.61, 1.22, 1.00, 0.87, it's a thing of beauty with a 3.91 final drive it gives me the same first ratio as the 2.67 first from the 6 speed with a 3.6 final drive
  10. this is the best i've found. http://www.wallaceracing.com/calc-rpm-drop-shift.php I'm going 2.66, 1.75, 1.26, 1.0, 0.86 BGH sporting close and adding a quaife ATB at the same time.
  11. I've been looking at BGH sporting close (2.66) and SPC touring (2.752) My main concern is that the car is an SV and used only for touring 2 up, so the weight is around 750kg and we do have to drive in traffic through seaside towns. being able to roll along at 10mph is important in these circumstances, particularly with a K series which has less torque and doesn't come onto cam until 2500 rpm. Too long a gear and you will have to dip the clutch constantly. for my set up 1800 rpm is 9mph with the current 3.35 and would be 15mph at 2.48. So i think for me that 2.66 or the 2.752 is a better compromise but will still get me to 45mph in first and a 38% gear drop 1st to 2nd (7500-4628) as opposed to the 46%!! of the standard box. It's the rev drop that I actually find more annoying than the shortness of gear as it bogs down at <4000rpm I am 100% going to change the ratios this winter. The SPC is attractive as it seems to be completely manufactured from scratch where I assume the BGH to be remanufactured. yours, confused Surrey
  12. I've had the car for 2 months and 1000 miles and in that time I went to Dave Andrews and had it properly timed and had a 4-2-1 exhaust fitted. I've been out the last 2 nights with air temps around 12-14 and noticed that the car runs so much better with cool air. As a non-engineer does this sound like the car may be running a little rich and would benefit from a remap? far smoother on light throttle and doesn't spit fire on the overum like it does when driven at mid 20C temps in the day recently. The accurate timing from dave and the new exhaust has really improved torque in the 3500-4500 range by the bum dyno, so pleased with that aspect.
  13. How much was the oxted quote out of interest?
  14. I'm in Warlingham (Red SV) and I keep seeing a Kawasaki green S3 which I think must be 2 streets down from me but have never been in a position to stop and say hello.
  15. I would be interested too, Complete 4-2-1 with Cat for an SV and fitted.
