  1. Hi, further to my recent post on shortening the harness (Nick from Corbeau Seats very responsive and can turn around in a few days), I noticed an extra threaded hole when i removed seat. This is set further back and would fix the problem possibly. There isn't the same hole on the other side visible but there may be a bush under the panel. Link to photos, can anyone advise please if this is indeed for the harness, or is it for something else? See photos in link: Bolt is in current hole used for straps and second photo shows threaded hole that is spare on the tunnel side. https://photos.app.goo.gl/6Ph9Gc31T2WL41rS9 Thanks, Chris
  2. Hi, my 4 point harness is too long, especially the side straps. As i purchased the car 'as is', I'm not sure if these straps are standard or not. First question, is there a standard measurement I can check? second question, if these are standard, can i get shorter straps, or get straps altered? Cheers :) UPDATE ...have since found this thread which i missed in earlier search and have emailed Luke: https://www.lotus7.club/forum/techtalk/4-point-harness-advice
  3. Hi all, I'm looking for half doors with elbow space to fit a roll cage. Other that the rather pricey Caterham offering, has anyone got suggestions of where to source these... or anyone have any that that want to pass on at a reasonable price :) Soft-bits look good on other items, but half doors don't look like they have the room i want... anyone got any that can comment? Also looking for a boot cover to fit with roll cage, though was looking at soft bits for Sevens for that. Suggestions welcome. Thanks, Chris

    310R vs 420R

Interesting point on throttle lag. I have a 2014 Supersport R (upgraded to 210), so same engine as the 420. The slow throttle response is very noticeable and Caterham say this is characteristic of this engine and i will have to get used to it (purchased March last year from CC). I was looking to get the car tuned to see if this will fix the problem. ChrisC have you done this successfully? I have a lightened flywheel and not sure if anything else on the engine will prevent tuning/remapping away the issue. If this does resolve the problem, the 420 would be a great bit of kit. Also considered roller barrels, but have tempered my upgraditis to some other less expensive elements.
  5. Thanks again Ian and if anyone could confirm a 2014 S3 metric chassis has the extra bushes as standard, that would be helpful?
  6. Hi Richard, As above Ian picked up on same question (will edit post). Looks like just the two offering on CC for S3 the same design, but metric and imperial versions, [edit] I think these are both the Super Light Roll (SLR) Cage? The SV versions don't have images but one is a roadsport, Thanks, Chris
  7. Hi Ian, this is the one CC recommended (R400 Race Metric): https://caterhamparts.co.uk/rollcages/3689-rollcage-assy-lhd-a-rhd-r400-race.html As mentioned in the post the CC parts website is sparse on information. When asked, they seem to think the 2014 Supersport will have bushes in place behind panels. I do have lowered floors as well. Yes cosmetics will be an issue on removal, good point. Cheers
  8. Hi, As I'm looking to track the Seven this year, and have a standard roll bar, I'm looking a for a view on pros and cons of changing to a cage as opposed to Track Day bar. I've seen the guide on here and a few articles, so leaning towards a cage. Especially as I want to stay aero from now on, so already drive on the road with a helmet (essential if in an accident surrounded by steel pipe that makes the cage). Cage recommended by CC for my 2014 Supersport: https://caterhamparts.co.uk/rollcages/3689-rollcage-assy-lhd-a-rhd-r400-race.html There are only two listed on the site for S3 and two for SV. Guessing one is Metric, one Imperial and all same style? Cage pros and cons listed below as i see it, and this is for my needs (happy to be rained on without full screen and weather gear, this may change) and please feel free to comment and call out any naivety: Pros Cage with helmet and enough head clearance has to be safer overall Not only roll over protection, but some side impact as well. At the moment first point of contact would be my elbow, followed by rib cage and the rest. Understand Track Roll bar is only really doing the full job with 'petty strut' which means no passenger unless removed. Then how good is the roll bar... (not looking to restart the Track Bar necessity debate for track days) Looks cool as More places to put mirrors and guess there is better visibility, with less vibration than mirror on the aero Boot cover will not need adapting according to CC Should have all bushes in place behind panels, again according to CCCons Getting in and out, takes some agility. At this moment of time, I'm agile enough to hop in from the top, but may hinder some passengers (including my Mum, when I collect her to go for Sunday lunch). Price, though guess if I changed back it would have reasonable resale value. Weight... must be a few people who have weighed a track day roll bar and a cage, can anyone please tell me the respective weights? Asked Caterham Parts a couple of weeks ago and yet to get a response. As an aside, the parts website has very little info on the parts on sale. Is this deliberate? Doesn't support people trying to follow the "to add speed, add lightness" mantra. Have to wear a helmet, but that's ok for me at the mo. Any tonneau or half door implications to be aware of? ...still to source these. Cosmetic isues when reverting to roll bar (Thanks Ian)That was a longer post than expected, but some validation on my newbie thought process would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Chris
  9. Thanks Chaps, seems like a good setup to have a go with. I know some people have extended height of centre mirror to see far side wheel, maybe an option later. Will see how I get on.
  10. Thanks 'aeroscreens'. Guess there will be arguments for different setups, as you say personal choice. Convex mirrors are winning so far
  11. Hi All, I’m looking to go Aero screen (wind deflector) and have narrowed the deflector down to Meteor's clear aeroscreen ( https://www.meteormotorsport.com/shop/caterham/clear-aeroscreen/) based on price, good visibility and has centre fixing unlike some cheaper deflectors. Please feel free to give your thoughts on that decision... Now I’m looking to match this up with mirrors and would appreciate your thoughts. As don’t have full cage and want to keep the car standard, I will be fixing to side mirrors to the deflector. So a few things to consider: 1. Convex or flat? 2. Some people run aero without centre mirror, do you miss the rear view centre mirror? 3. Any recommendations for good priced and good quality mirrors? Current Caterham mirrors are fixed to windscreen don’t give the best of visibility and have vibration problems at different rpm. Cheers
