  1. Hopefully all went well with the MOT. I have just had a look through the Dorset group WhatsApp and didn't see your name, are you local and it is not a bad group for getting out blatting from time to time if you are interested.
  2. Glorious day for a blat, waved to you from my blue seven heading west.
  3. Morning all, I was wondering if anyone has had similar damage to their leading edge cycle wings as I have in the photos and what the cause was and the remedy? I suspect it may be because the ZZRs are marginally larger than the tyres that may have been on their previously and possibly the cycle wings are slightly inclined forward. I am thinking of waiting for the friction damage to cease and cutting out the damaged section with a Dremel parallel to the leading edge but above the damage. If anyone has had a similar experience that they have resolved or has any wisdom they would like to share on the matter I would be most grateful before I end up buying a new set of cycle wings and end up in the same position.
  4. Brief glimpse of dark blue with a silver or white stripe, waved from mine but briefest of glimpses.
  5. Selling a pair of excellent condition SV side screens and standard Caterham mirrors, going aero so surplus to requirements. Excellent condition with armrests fitted. Caterham price new is a wee bit north of £550, asking £350 + Postage.
  6. It is described as full face and in the specs it can be retro fitted with visor for open cockpit so I would suggest you are good to go.
Suerte amigo.
  8. I move between Colombia and UK several times during the year for work and I was in Colombia when the music stopped. Doesn´t look like there will be any international flights until probably mid late June at this rate.
  9. #27 Gotcha, I didn't think they would be that expensive but I haven't looked. Next suggestion would be one of the thinner nylon chipping boards laminated on a thinner piece of aluminium than the cheque plate. Wood as shock absorption, or the foam wedge mentioned, aluminium for shock distribution and plastic chopping board for glide. I am also very conscious I am coming up with smart arse ideas from an arm chair sadly 5,000 miles away from my car or I would be doing this.
  10. Nice work James and thanks for the detail. I really like the design and am sure it will work. Had you thought about a teflon or nylon wedge and no aluminium bash plate. I would imagine it would satisfy the strike and glide intent more effectively. I appreciate the effort on this and it is food for thought for sure.
  11. Looking good James, it would be great if you detail all the parts used once you have the wedge on as I suspect I shall want to add something similar to mine.
  12. Manx roads must be a lot cleaner than I remember them if that is what a sump looks like!
  13. James, sadly I am a long way from my car so cannot contribute but I am following this with interest and wanted to let you know I am grateful for the work you have put into this and look forward to a definitive solution, fingers crossed.
  14. James, grateful of you could keep us update as you make progress please.
  15. If there is any enterprising soul out there with a 3d printer willing to knock some up I too would be interested, they appear to be verging on hens teeth status on the second hadn market.
  16. Strikes me that this might be a good case for graphite lubricant spray, I suspect that is less likely to attract grit and longer lasting than silicone.
  17. Thanks Andrew, something else for me to look at in eliminating the problem.
  18. Thanks for the comprehensive responses and glad to know that I am not on my own. I am a fair way from the car right now but will be able to reference the answers when I get back to the UK and start working on a solution, a turn buckle, new doors or (whisper it) aeros and half doors.
  19. Not sure this is actually worthy of a tech talk forum, but last time I was driving at speeds above about 55mph my passenger door deformed and blew into the cabin, that is the rear part entered the car. It appears that there is some deformation of the stiffening in the mid section. Has anyone else had this problem and what is the solution?
  20. Have you thought about Lexan or similar?
  21. I am looking at this and the Isle of Man event and am a bit torn between the two, given the price of the IOM Steam Racket ferries this will probably be a cheaper option even if you included the helicopter flight and likely better weather too. Nothing quite like heading over the mountain road in the Isle of Man though. Then again I need to find the time first to do either but it is in the diary.
  22. I wonder what their classification is for the Dunsfold handling day.
  23. What 7 Wonders said. Mine arrived today very pleased and thanks for making the effort on these things Stephen.
  24. If it helps Stephen I too would be up for a 21 logo and I like the logo on the back by the way, I will be up for a black one once you are ready for orders.
