  1. I think Doug raises a good point about using autoroute. There I no shame in getting a few miles cracked between the good bits rather than flog through villages, speed restrictions and cameras.

My advice is look at what you want to do where and then map study the hell out of the routes between them. Choice of navigation software and devices makes life a lot easier, annoyingly standard software needs to be tweeted and finessed to help it find those memorable routes. This is easier done with a cup of tea and a lap top rather than sweltering with your feet in a pizza oven by the side of the road.

I have to say I think you are missing out on Spain and I would circle back to get more Spain especially the North Coast and the Picos de Europa in favour of northern France.

Regardless you will ha e a great time, sunscreen, hat, decent sun glasses aggressively long lunches in the heat of the day. All in a 7 what's not to like?

  2. Looking for some guidance from the wise amongst you.

Isolator switch on, ignition on, fuel pump activates lights go on and nothing on push button or ignition key start, no click, nothing.

I have loosened, cleaned and WD40ed the terminals on the starter motor and it seems to work but I am concerned it may fail again whilst away for a weekend.

Two days ago it pissed down and the car was thoroughly soaked on a 3 hour drive, it has a new Lithium and when it does turn over it does so quickly and fires and starts immediately.

    Car is a 260CSR 2007.

Should I be worried about starter motor degradation or should I be looking elsewhere?

  3. Afternoon all,

I appear to have mislaid a set of keys with my immobiliser fob attached and am now down to one. Does anyone know the best route to getting a replacement. It is one of the black teardrop shaped proximity type fitted to a 07 CSR.

I assume that there is a coding issue that will need to be addressed and any info on where that might be done around the Dorchester area would be gratefully received.

  4. Doug,

I am not sure if you have looked at Sonic Comms who do a lot of stuff for police and military, you may be interested in their induction loop and covert earpiece systems that could be adapted for our use although it will have some limitations. Possibly of more interest is their bone phone transducer systems used in Police bike helmets. No wind noise as all sound is bone transmitted and it allows for the ear canals to be blocked for aural protection.

Obviously that is just the user end and the interface allowing ease fo use and ease of expansion for radios etc is the other bit. It is encouraging to know that a Caterham individual is on the case. Best of luck.
