  1. Hello all, I have just made an adapter cable to fit a K6 ECU to an EU3 K Series engine. I have seen that it is possible to have ECU data sent to an iPhone/iPad via a Wifi dongle connected to an OBD2 plug. Now, I know that Emerald make a lead, but I'd like to make my own but I would need to know the pin connections... That is where you come in (hopefully). Ta

    Snapped bolt

Deffo Impact gun for the crank pulley :-)
  3. If it is any use, I can get you one from a 1.8 Zetec...
  4. I'm busy collecting parts for a 200BHP build of a 1800 K Series motor. I do LOVE a challenge (and have loads of time to bugger about) - I know the majority of you would probably suggest a less harsh cam but I have already sourced a very nicely priced set of Piper 285M cams. I'm hoping there is someone out there that bought solid followers and shims and lost the will to live (I mean 'will to build) and now has a set kicking about that they would like to see gone... for cash of course! Also after a pair of vernier pulleys too. Ta in advance ;-)
  5. I know you probably know this... Does it read temp correctly when stationary? Does it under read all year round? With the cold days, it could just struggle
  6. I have no idea why car manufacturers bother fitting side lights (well, maybe as parking lights). You either want your lights on or not. If you don't want them on, it will be broad daylight and you can both see AND be seen. If you want lights on it is either because visibility is bad (dark, grey, raining, foggy, drizzle) or you want to be seen (small low car, bad road, bad weather etc.). People that put sidelights on are, in my opinion, morons - I'm not calling you a moron by the way as you seem to be fitting LED's to enhance the look of the bowls when your lights are on ;-) The number of grey cars that drive in the middle lane of the motorway in rain with sidelights on (or even no lights on!) quite clearly have no concept of how impossible they are to be seen.
  7. The link is just what I was looking for, thanks a lot. Oilyhands, I may well be in touch soon ;-)
  8. Hello Gurus! Does anyone have a pin-change guide/diagram for re-pinning from EU3 to the K6 please? Fingers crossed yet again :-)

    Backlash

I wish it was an LSD ;-) Diff oil was replaced just prior to me buying it a few weeks ago. I've got a 'grating' sound on the rear nearside wheel area (just had wet tires fitted) that needs looking at next week, so I'll check the diff oil again. Has anyone actually silenced it or is it just a case of Turn the Music Up?!?!?!

    Backlash

so, my first 7 and have a noisy diff. Apparently this is normal as we are sitting on it with no soundproofing. However... the diff is fine on acceleration and holding a constant speed but on deceleration there’s ‘chatter’ that I would call backlash. Mine is a 1.6 K 2006. I’ll take a look at the prop shaft UJ’s over the weekend, but what do you experienced guys/gals think? cheers.
  11. Wow, the Stack unit is very bright white! Thanks Jonathan, I have just ordered some replacement lamps for the other dials. David, I'll let you know how the condensation goes. Cheers both ;-)
  12. Hello all, First forum post so be gentle hehe... Does anyone have any recommendations as to replavement bulbs for the caterham gauges please? I'm just about to fit a Stack mech oil gauge and hear that it has an LED lamp that is considerably brighter than the rest and to keep things in OCD tune, I'd like to replace the others. TIA Al
