  1. Thanks Ed and Dave! I will miss the car when it's gone for sure, hopefully won't regret the decision!
  2. For sale is my 1993 Crossflow Super Seven, 31k miles, MOT until May 2019. Located in Leeds. £11,500 ono With the clamshells, Brooklands screen (heated windscreen included as well), chrome headlights, original grill (newer 7 grill included), spare wheel, live axle and the addictive sound of the Crossflow, this is the 7 for someone going for the classic look and feel. Full weather gear included too. In my ownership, has been looked after by Dave Gemzoe. Work carried out in the last 12 months or so: 25k mile service New ram pipes and recent carb tuning by Dave New front brake callipers and Mintex brake pads New tyres - Uniroyal Rainexpert 3The car comes with lots of history, right from the time the car was built by the first owner 25 years ago! The car is 25 years old and has some stone chips (particularly on rear wings) and paint scratches but nothing major. There is a star crack on one of the rear wings which I have shown in the pictures.
  3. My thoughts exactly that I would be drilling too many holes if I were to do a proper job and it wasn't a route I wanted to go down. Just made sure there is enough Dinitrol under the car and the grot traps!
  4. It's a weekend of scraping the Waxoyl and putting Dinitrol under the car. How do I get the cavity wax into the pipes? Any recommendations?
  5. I would think twice about using them to be honest. I bought some retaining channels which were not a good fit at all and they kept coming up with excuses (they all do that...) when I wanted to return them. It's only later that I read reviews online and they do not paint them in glory at all. I should have done my homework before ordering!
  6. Hi James Should we expecting anything in the post or is this an email? I haven't seen anything yet so just wondering if there any last minute things to sort out! Also, can you tell us when the day starts and is expected to wrap up?
  7. Thanks James! If I get the Boa delivered in time, I will stuff it in as a precaution anyway!
  8. Hi guys, I am just wondering how likely it is that my 1600 Xflow Caterham would be over the noise limit and if there is a way for me to test (perhaps using a phone app?) whether I am going to be over the limit? The car is bog standard but has a Techcraft Mega Flow exhaust which is loud but is it too loud? I have ordered some Acousta-fil Boa - is it just the case of taking the end of the can off and stuffing it inside with the Boa material? I might just be worrying unnecessarily but don't ask, don't know...
  9. These have now gone to Ed - thanks for looking!
  10. Sorry I never had them on the car (the previous owner had already changed the tyres to Yoko) so can't really say!
  11. Avon CR322 185/70R13 Tyres come off a Caterham as previous owner upgraded but still have about 4.5+ mm depth. Free to collect from Leeds!
  12. Just signed up for this - looking forward to it! Have read through this thread for some tips: https://www.lotus7.club/forum/techtalk/track-day-tips-newbies My insurance does not cover track days - Is it required? Do most people get additional insurance - any ideas where to look for something reasonable?
  13. Spot on Neanderthal, exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for sharing your experience and tip about avoiding damage to the sideskin!
  14. Hi Jonathan, yeah I have the assembly guide with the instructions. Guess my question was more about how to get the bush out and if there is a straightforward method I am missing? Will have a look through the archives and see if I can find something of help!
  15. One of the bushes on front lower wishbone is past its best-before date and needs replacing. I have the bushes now and any need to replace them. Any tips on how to go about this without taking out the full front suspension? https://photos.app.goo.gl/JpS9abhB3cC5W1yg2
  16. Sorry for bringing up this old thread but for some reason, none of the forum links seem to work for me! Any instructions on converting into a sealed system would be much appreciated!
  17. That interesting, Blue C7. I don't think I noticed a flat plate, think I will need to look harder this time. Cheers!
  18. Thanks Keith, I have been enjoying the Brooklands which have fitted fine without the retaining channels. As you say, it seems the problem is with the retaining channels. I am not prepared to make the holes any bigger than they are already, so I probably do need to get the original ones.
  19. Thanks Ian! I think mine are more than a mm, so need to think about it...
  20. Hi Now that I have a Brooklands screen, to avoid having to remove the knee trims everytime, I got a pair of retaining channels from KitCarDirect (http://www.kitcardirect.co.uk/caterham-s3-easy-swap-retaining-channel.html) as the ones on Caterham store were out of order. When I fit them over the weekend, the captive nuts do not align with the existing scuttle holes. KCD has suggested it might be an issue with the holes being drilled in the wrong place and filing the scuttle hole so that they do align. I would like to avoid messing around with the scuttle holes if avoidable. The other concern is that the windscreen and Brooklands stanchion will not fit properly even if I do manage to get the holes aligned as they seem to fit perfectly fine as-is. Anyone else run into similar issues? Would appreciate any advice! Offside Inside: Offside Outside: Nearside Inside: Nearside Outside:
  21. Thanks all, I think its the cork gasket. I am going to replace it and see if that helps!
  22. Relatively new to Caterham world, I have a 1600 Ford Crossflow powered Super Sprint. Last week, I have noticed oil near one of the spark plugs - any idea what this could be? The car drives well and does not show any symptoms of a major issue as such.
