  1. Hi Revilla Thanks for your response, the car has only stood for a week.
  2. K series, 1994 Supersport 1.4 I went to start the car this morning and there was a mechanical rattle. I started the car a few times and it seems to have 'cured' itself. Could this be the start of starter motor failure?
  3. Sevens and Classics found a split in the throttle body mount and a leaky inlet manifold gasket. Car now running as it should. Excellent service by S and C.
  4. So... Had ecu remapped to throttle bodies. Ran perfectly for 250 miles then it happens again. Frustrating!!
  5. Right here we go... about 700 miles ago I had: new head gasket (preventative maintenance), water pump, cam belt, tensioners, fan switch, water temperature sender, radiator and thermostat. Before the problem started I had just filled up with Shell V Power (never had an issue before). The problem started after about 50 miles. I put a bottle of STP fuel injector cleaner in and the car has been OK... so far. Hopefully thus has cleared it... Good luck Toughie, let us know how you get on.
  6. Toughie... K series 1.4. I ran the car this afternoon and it seems fine. I'm going to take it for a longer run during the week and I'll let you know how it goes.
  7. Car has been running really well until last night. I had driven about 50 miles but whenever I got to a roundabout or junction the revs dropped and the car stalled. It always started straight away but was 'popping' through the exhaust. Car is 1994 Supersport 1.4 Any ideas?
  8. New switch fitted and car fully 'winded' by burping... and what a burp it was!!! Thanks everybody. Paul
  9. Job done, all up and running. Thanks everyone. Paul
  10. Is it possible to blank it off? Paul
  11. New radiator arrived today. Fan switch fits in left hand aperture, hose on right hand aperture, no idea what the centre aperture is for. My existing radiator has a hex nut. How do I blank it off HELP! Paul
  12. Fitted new head gasket, water pump, leaky fan switch, thermostat, temperature sensor etc. Car runs perfectly but fan not coming on until in the red. Any ideas? Car is 1994 Supersport K series 1.4
  13. Thanks Garth Spent a bit of time on the internet this afternoon and I'm sure it's a MGF TF sensor. watch this space. Paul
  14. 1994 Supersport, 1.4. K-series. I've had a leaking temperature sensor and decided to replace it. The new one arrived but as you can see from the picture the sensor part is longer than the original. Any ideas? Has anybody got one laying around their garage labeled 'things I may need one day'? Could you take yours off and drop it round and fit it for me? Help, it's sunny and I need to drive my car. Paul
  15. I've got the early stages of what looks like Head Gasket Failure on my 1994 Supersport. I understand there is an upgraded gasket set using improved dowels. I can source the gasket from Redline Components so no problem there. I also have a mechanic wh can do the work for me. I just what some opinions/advice and how much should I expect to pay for the work. Ta
  16. So... New head gasket it is.
  17. 1994 42,000 miles. Mayo? White gunk.
