  1. Can I fit the isolator on the battery earth lead or positive as a single pole locking switch, or is something more esoteric needed which keeps the imobiliser in line and powered ? I have several lockable switches here from the boats which are 24 volt rated and one would be easy to fit on the passenger side. Ken
  2. Back to Porto then on Ryan air and spend the change on ice cream and cakes!
  3. I do take the point about driving with dipped headlights. Soon after getting the car I started to actually do this but on one occasion I stopped off at home for about 30 mins and forgot to switch off the lights. Half an hour later the car would not start, battery flat and needing a recharge. Since then I have been a bit wary of doing the same thing while away from home. Of course with a battery the size of a small loaf and short journeys it was to be expected. Hopefully a change to LED lighting may help the situation. The units I saw in Portugal were sealed beam type and I was not sure if they would be a straight replacement on the Seven but at 24 euros each they did seem to be a good idea and affordable. I imagine that they should be available for vintage bikes in the UK but have not had time to look around for them. Ken
  4. Hi chaps, thanks for the input, as soon as I can locate the meter I will give it a go. The 48 LED strip sounds like the way to go, I am also thinking about replacing the headlights with LED types - I saw some great 5 3/4 bike replacements when we were in Portugal recently, seems to be a straight swap! Will update after a few experiments. Best regards, Ken
  5. Sorry 2 pole female - red and black cable, just managed to dig it out enough to look properly, but cannot find multimeter at the moment.
  6. this morning I discovered an unknown cable in the boot of my 2013 40th roadsport. It is fastened to the seat bulkhead braces and terminates in a white three socket female plug. Would this be for a third brake light ( I hope )? It is well fastened and dificult to get at and the actual cable is protected by a plastic tube that dissapears through the floor, it seems to be factory fitted, any ideas?
  7. Dark blue traveling towards Lenham from Charing 9.20 today, nice sound! I was walking the white dog.
  8. swimming cap or shaved head - less wind resistance, rain drops blow right off and anyway, light is right. Or, just present her with a dozen red roses at the end of the trip! Xinha uses baseball cap when driving ours in the summer and combines it with a pashmina after dark and on colder days. Not tried in winter yet, but determined never to use the hood.
  9. Not a Seven as such but the best turned out Tiger I have seen yet, cruising the seafront at Figuera last week.
  10. Thanks Garry, confirms my thoughts on this problem, but as a newbie thought I had better consult other owners first. The tyres are Avon zz's and the other three look as though very little wear has taken place. I will ring Caterham when we get back and book it in. Otherwise car is a dream, although when out and about one seems to spend as much time answering questions as driving it! Hope to see you all at the next meet, Ken
  11. I have now had my Roadsport since early May this year and have covered around 2000 miles on short Blats around Kent. I notice that the inside edge of the front nearside tyre is wearing considerably quicker than the other tyres. I have put this down to the road camber on B roads and country lanes as well as the differing surface and state of the roads in the area, as well as my enjoyment of empty safe roundabouts and the extra g on the nearside. Or, is there a problem with the suspension set up and should the car go back to Caterham south for a look see?
  12. last evening around 8 pm. White seven followed us into Sainsbury car park at Ashford Kent. Nice to meet you Aaron, nice car - enjoy!
  13. Hi Duncan, I was about 200 meters from the junction and just had a very quick look. I had thought that they may be part of the west Kent run or going over to Woodchurch for the steam fair. Good to see anyway. Ken

  16. Today Sunday about 2pm, Dark blue Seven on A25 towards Sevenoaks from Westerham. Waved from black tintop in other direction.I had intended to drive the Caterham, but decided that London speed bumps and 20 limit would be an annoyance. Hope you had a good blat.
  17. Heading towards Ashford about 12.30 Yesterday, Sat 9th. I was red 7 in other direction.
  18. Seen at Charing roundabout 9.20 this morning. Waved but you obviously did not see me by side of road in layby. Nicely turned out car!
