I've got the ex-academy car booked in for MOT Thursday.
The plan is to take it in with just the drivers seat and harness fitted, and with the aero screen. I've refitted the lights and got them all working, Just need to replace a couple of switches tomorrow.
Emissions I won't know until the day but at least if it fails, I'll have a list to work on. Will then fit the passenger seat, harness, screen and wipers at my leisure.
Am I missing anything obvious?

Thinking about getting a set of Apollo wheels, anyone selling (preferably with tyres)?
-
Now sorted thanks to J Kay!

Is it worth buying? My Sigma ex-racer arrived yesterday and I'm feeling a bit lost

Finally, after much messing around, it's arrived! Just in time for it to be too late for me to do any tinkering today :-(
Took it for a spin though, it's fun :-)http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1479/13685019/24550865/413187377.jpg

Thanks Ian, I notice your new one has the battery cut out centrally positioned, are you going to fit a screen?
-
Looking for some indicator pods, latest type preferred but I guess I could mod the earlier type. With or without indicators is fine.
-
Hopefully now sorted!

The problem I have is that the car I'm getting has one of the new style screens for the driver, but the battery cut it is centrally placed in the scuttle, I don't think a traditional aero screen will work but if you can send me some details please?

Long shot I know, but does anyone have one of the single Perspex aeroscreens suitable for the passenger side of a UK car, hence LHD drivers screen usually used on a race car? https://caterhamparts.co.uk/…/3910-perspex-aeroscreen-lhd-s…https://caterhamparts.co.uk/windscreens-aeroscreens/3910-perspex-aeroscreen-lhd-sv-a-csr-race.html

Payment sent, now has anyone blogged a fitting guide?

A deal has been struck, watch this space and standby for loads of questions!

Sent you a bm

For us newbies what's the story on this?
-
All of the ones I've seen are already registered.

In my quest for a cheapish 7 I've come across a ew ex-race cars.
The ones I've seen are pretty much mechanically sorted but need things like lights and windscreen etc. Given the kit type nature of Caterhams I'm guessing this sort of stuff is fairly easy to retro fit?
-
If you're selling Mossy send me some details please.
-
Can you blatmail me a link please?
-
nothing ventured nothing gained, any cheapish cars for sale? Don't mind a bit of a project but anything considered.
-
Looked good from what I saw, are you local? I actually live in Holland on Sea.
-
Anyone here? Green with yellow nose/stripe, traveling west past Clacton golf club today.
-
Certainly not afraid of buying an ex race car just want to know exactly what I'm getting. It's strange that it's only when cars are recorded as cat D or C that it affects the value whereas some have had extensive unrecorded crash repairs and make good money.
Anyone have an answer to the chassis number question?

It has a cenrtral rear view and drivers wing (attached to the cage). Are mirrors a requirement?
