  1. Yes, ride height checked and fine, all the suspension is original. Its just 20 years of driving over Surreys "finest" roads that have gradually taken their toll. I was hoping to avoid paying the extortionate amount Caterham want for a new sump, when mine is perfectly fine apart from the wear on the ribs. I figured that the ribs were designed to wear and protect the sump and that rebuilding them would be fine and also assumed that someone must of done something similar in the past.
  2. Just wondering if anyone out there has ever welded new sacrificial aluminum material onto the worn raised ribs on the underside of their sumps. My sump is getting on a bit now and the raised rib material on the leading edge and an inch or so back has pretty much worn away to a point where it is almost flush. I've had a go with my arc welder and some aluminum rods on an old damaged sump and have had an OK result in building up some material and then profiling it to the original shape. Any thoughts on why this is a good / bad idea would be welcome. Thanks Steve
  3. All sorted now, big thank you to Paul . Now all I have to do is fit it. Thanks to those who offered help. Steve
  4. Thanks for the offer Ian, Lets see if anything nearer to home comes up over the next few days, if not I may well be in touch. Steve
  5. Does anyone out there have an upgraded rollbar hanging around that I could buy or borrow in time for the Childrens Trust Goodwood Supercar Day (1st June). We have just been informed that as we are on the track this year we will need the upgraded rollbar to be covered under the Club insurance. My car is an origional 1997 superlight and currently has the factory fitted non diagional rollbar. I am based in Horsham Thanks Steve
  6. Thanks Oily, Are you referring to the check box at the bottom right of the Events page. The original map from Track "N" Road had this box unticked. I assumed that this feature was disabled when it was not ticked so the original map was not cutting the fuel on overrun. Or have I misinterpreted it and it should be ticked. Steve
  7. Thanks RJ, That is what I thought and why I have reduced the setting in the Ignition and Injection sites, but it does not seem to have had the desired effect. I have reduced the ignition down to 0 from 1750 rpm upwards and the injection to 7 from 1750 upwards. I am thinking I may have leaned it off a little too much.
  8. It has been a few years since my car was set up at Track "N" Road by the two Steve's. At the time of the RR session I was asked if I wanted any pops and bangs but at the time decided to err on the side of caution as I did not have a map changing switch, so we settled on an occasional burble instead, which rarely makes its presence known. Now time has passed, and it would be nice to have the option of a more vocal engine. I have installed a 3 way switch and had a play with the 0 position TPS settings in both the Ignition and Injection Speed Sites, reducing both with the aim of getting a leaner mix passing through the engine and igniting in the exhaust. The fuel cut off box is disabled. At the moment I am not having much luck. If anyone out there has a emerald map which does achieve this could you let me know what settings are required. Or even better send me a screen shot of the relevant speed sites. The car is a DVA modified 1.6 with 1320 cams, Jenvey T/B's, a 4-2-1 exhaust (no cat) and an Emerald K6 ECU. Thanks, Steve.
  9. Hi, I have 2 S Type leather seats which were removed from my original 97 superlight when I swapped over to Tillets a few years back. They have been stored well and are in very good condition for their age. They come complete with both headrests and both have adjustable seat runners fitted. To be honest I am really not sure of what these are now worth so I am open to offers. Would like to sell as a pair. Located near Cranleigh in Surrey. Thanks Steve
  10. Following some DVA upgrade work my original supersport cams and the associated mems 2 ecu are availible. They cam from my 97 1.6 superlight and had cover 17k miles. Looking for £250. Located near Cranleigh (RH12).
  11. Hello Garth. Could I have this please. I will PM you shortly. Thanks Steve.
  12. Paid and PM sent. Many thanks James for getting this sorted.
  13. Count me in please. Thanks James
  14. Hi Roger, Had a similar conversion done on my 1.6 by Oily. Also had the air intake temperature discussion so i played around and fabricated this. Not sure how effective it is but it has got to reduce the temps. Made from Ali purchased from Wickes, uses 3 existing fixing points and has a foam draught exclude strip between the radiator and its bottom plate. Hope it is of some help, Steve
  15. I am in the process of relocating my emerald unit and the other engine management units to under the dash. I have rerouted the wiring starting within the engine bay and following the route of the existing wiring loom, through the transmission tunnel and into the area just in front of the gear stick. I am now wondering the best way of getting the large emerald plug through the hole of the ally plate which is on top of the transmission tunnel and through which the existing loom passes. I would rather not make a 2nd hole or enlarge the existing hole so is it possible / easy to remove the individual wires from the plug that goes into the Emerald or am I potentially opening a can of worms, or are there any other options? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Steve
