  1. My original caterham belts are put of date.

I need to replace the belts and looking for best options.

i dislike the current OE belts as the buckles catch in the tilletts  and appear to be badly designed?

Lota of options and whilst buy cheap buy twice is always a  concern  they must be FIA compliant and tillett compatible

    Any views and experience?

  2. Greetings

You will have an extra groove on your damper to move the very small circlip that you can hardly believe holds the platform up

You do not need to machine new ones I know as I have the exact (virtually) same 7

Once moved all will become clear

If you are near Nottinghamshire happy to assist meet or talk you through it

  3. With Tazio here

With any spirited driving especially race/track driving  I would be more concerned with oil starvation with a wet sumped car

There are no issues checking dry sumped cars at all.

  4. Hi

wet/dry sump - oil changes are not affected by that but by usage - the more you use your 7 and the more ‘stressful use’ defines your oil changes - usual rules.

there is a benefit Re general ground clearance which some believe can assist them

360 come with dry sumped  if specc’d so you will find them around

if it is mostly road then 360 is enough but as you use it more you will always want more and get upgrades bothering you if you feel that way

so 420 to 500 to 620  will be your next question anyway

If you can drive the nuts off it already get a 420

if you are new to 7s then 360 is enough for public roads if mostly doing those as you will find yourself enjoying that enough

  5. Brian James Minno Max trailer twin axle  with high level tyre rack. Based on A4 style trailer with ramps that slide into and under chassis for storage. Very good condition hardly any miles tyre tread hardly touched with brand new spare. All brakes in very good condition. Fits in single garage as was stored there until recently. Loading bed width 171cm and loading length 338cm. Pictures to follow £1900 may split rack away depending on deal. Pictures to follow ASAP

  6. Find your local trade motor factor which supplies paint to the trade. Most will mix up a £10 (approx) aerosol. Take your car and ask them to scan the colour and make up a can. Spray some on a fine brush and dab your stone chips. Some even do small trial pots so worth asking.

  7. Not quite sure if I have your point but if you have adjustable dampers then the dampers are likely to have snap rings that you can reposition to allow a different range of adjustment, at least mine did

  8. Re pedal box cover - it's important to leave it in place as it is part of the firewall from the engine compartment

remove it and you will feel quite some warm air flow to your feet/knees

In the unhappy event of an engine malfunction you would find your feet covered in hot oil/water/burning fuel very quickly

whilst that hopefully isn't going to happen the risk isn't worth it

hope that helps and I did mine summer of 2015 - if you fancy track days at blyton Cadwell or Donington would be happy to meet up

  9. You'll be fine we have been there lots of times in same spec car.

i can cause a peak there by coming out of last corner in second (5 spd  as the noise is recorded on the outside of the track just after you join it - so when completing a lap and taking the last left onto the straight keep your revs slightly lower and you'll be fine

done it with both cat and decat pipe

good luck you will enjoy it
