  1. That's my plan B. Thanks for the in-line fuse reminder, I'd forgotten that as a sensible precaution.
  2. Yes, I know, a clock... There was a clock in the car when I bought it, carving a hole in the carbon dash. That clock failed, so I replaced it as part of my other works on the car. I thought I'd used the same connections, but clearly not. The new clock has become a gauge showing how long my left indicator has been on. So it flashes when I indicate left, but is useless as a touring aid. Where have others got their clocks wired to? Any hints or tips on this...
  3. Yes - that's exactly my position. I'm using Dave's lamps and night driving is transformed. :)
  4. The driver usint is integral. I'm using 5+" shells and they fit without problem.
  5. I'm using Dave Gemzoe's lamps in 5" shells, no problem. The night driving experience is massively improved, driving at the speed limit is now not a leap of faith, a leap in the dark. Brilliant is the word.
  6. The upgrade is just for the lamps, as a swap for an H4 lamp. I'm not sure if the are E marked, but they will sit inside the headlamps you have that are E marked. Mine got through the MOT no problem.
  7. Update: Outbound and return routes are now uploaded to MyRoute. NOTE, YOU STILL NEED TO SIGN ON AT THE START OF THE DAY, PLEASE! Outbound: https://www.myrouteapp.com/en/social/route/1997534?mode=share Return: https://www.myrouteapp.com/en/social/route/1997535?mode=share Couple of notes, thanks to some weirdness in MyRoute... On the Outbound route, between points 3 and 4 (about 100 yards apart) MyRoute wants you to do a U-turn and a massive detour. Don't. Just go over the roundabout and carry on. On the Return route, the same thing is true between points 19 and 20. In both cases this is because OpenStreetMap had a roundabout approach lane marked as "one way" *in the wrong direction*. These were both corrected in OSM weeks ago, but MyRoute appears to have not caught up / loaded newer mapping data in the last month, which seems pretty poor but there's not a lot we can do about that!

  9. A printed route book will be available on the day. Additionally, the route will be in MyRoute (if I can persuade it to let me share this year's route to the L7C group), and subject to MyRoute having the odd "moment" and thinking a couple of roundabout approach roads go the wrong way, even though they were corrected in OpenStreetMap several weeks ago...
  10. Update... No reserved car parking spaces this year. Ah well. Just get there quicker...
  11. For 2019 we've also decided that the return run - for those few who choose to complete it - will end at the Ladybower Inn, our regular monthly meeting pub. Various reasons including a larger carpark and larger pub than our previous end point, and with the added potential benefit for those coming from distance that it has 7 en-suite bedrooms, so if you want to end the day with a couple of pints and a good kip before heading home on Sunday, give them a call and book...
  12. We’re also hoping to this year offer the route on the MyRoute app, to better assist lone travelers.
  13. 1. Create a calendar entry as a “National event”; 2. Go to event and notice that breadcrumb trail says it’s an ESV booking not a national event; 3. Breadcrumb does indeed take you to other ESV bookings.
