thx all - forgot to mention that I'm fitting the boot cover which also has quite a thick metal strengthening bar, so will need a small diameter, long nosed rivet.....will investigate further

come on Stephen - can you imagine me with a needle and thread :)
thx Ian mine's a std cage not the tall one - just noticed that SFBS do a motorsport stormcap which might fit the bill

Is there a special type of self tapper with the right sort of countersunk head to fit the above?
I often find that if I use a high street self tapper with the right diameter, it can still interfere with the 'folded' button end

To fit to the BEC at damp track days and when a tonneau is not enough

Not too bothered with the style - 8in x 13 minilites preferable as that's what I have currently

Good luck Simon,
Can't see the time problem - surely in amongst that lot you'll find time for a spot of gardening, round of golf, crown green bowling....

Likewise Mike, never got the fascination with the NC500. East is distinctly underwhelming roads wise. Scenery still wonderful and wild.
West is best :) enjoy the trip

Having been there on many occasions Mike I agree it is a part of the world everyone should visit at least once.
At that time of the year, you may encounter the start of the infamous 'wee beastie' season - (google Scottish midges). It would pay to go armed with plenty of Avon Skin So Soft.
Exact midge season start is difficult to predict accurately, a lot depends on the weather earlier in spring - but best be prepared
Happy to share some of the great routes up there if needed
I'd love to come along, but I'm already apporaching my quota of 'car weekends' :)

Also spotted today by another Mid Staffs member who was up there.

Hi Nigel, think it could have been Liam & Lara heading to the Mid Staffs meeting.

Spotted this afternoon driving through Barton under Needwood yellow with black nose band and centre stripe. I was out walking the dog, by the time I'd juggled the lead and the poo bag it was too late to wave!

Guessing that will be Messers Chan, Needham and Heseltine returning from Germany.
