yesterday we checked over all the wiring found a few things that we’re loose so we tried again on a quick trip round the block and no change so late last night we admitted defeat and rang Dave Gemzoe for help so dad spent all today with him trying to find the problem it turns out that the main fuel hose had degraded and was pushing rubber in to the carbs which lead to partially blocked jets and caused a detonation inside the cylinders which has destroyed 3 of the 4 piston ring sets so long story short the engine is dead but at least we now have plan ..........
Just wanted to say thanks to all the people who offered advice or spare parts for us to use today unfortunately after fitting a new fuel pump, TPS sensor/ plugs and coil pack the problem only got worse over our final runs so we decided to retire and save the car we haven’t had a chance to look over anything but we think its an electrical fault hopefully we will find the fault in time to make it to Gurston
And just a follow up on the big vibration we had at Goodwood the place where we had the wheels fitted didn’t balance them properly so one of the rear wheels was 40 grams out of balance so in other words i could have gone quicker if i could see where i was going
Down force sounds fun tony more speed arm is doing well I’m on a 16 week pysio routine but getting stronger i was given permission to drive again just need to wait a bit longer to apply for my sprint license
Our car is still under going a pretty much full rebuild and Tony i don’t think your car can handle much more power didn't it finish last season with about 600BHP
Yes merry Christmas and a happy new year to everyone i too hope i am back in the car next year hopefully doing all the events and having some fantastic battles
Hi everyone we just received an email from RAF Museum about the guided tour on Sunday it said that on Sunday as it’s Remembrance day they will be doing a minutes silence at 11 so can we all meet simon the tour guide in the visitors centre just after 11 thanks
Thanks everyone it is fantastic news that it's finally healed, good idea for the caterham driving rehab and they didn't have carbon fibre in stock john so they put titanium in and the first thing the doctor said was (ah good the plate has survived that can stay in then) the only thing he said was that if my hand starts to hurt over time he may have to realign some of the bones in my hand
Thanks Michael and tony skittles do sound like a good cure but speaking of rebuild him i should of asked them to make the plate adjustable to get full gear lever movement haha
Hi everyone thank you for all your kind wishes and support the op fine but had to stay in over night due to me getting a rash on my face and shoulders i am finally home i had a bone graph and then a metal plate inserted to hold everything in place while it heals so just to let everyone know im fine just a bit sleepy
Thanks everyone and hopefully i can worry class 2 at some point in the future i will still be at events but because i am having an op I can't apply for an msa license until i get a doctors note but im hoping to be back in the car for curbs 8 and I'll just take it from there
