  1. I used Autoworx in Bromley. Really professional and great results. They used a new 'self healing' film. I've done 6 track days since and I'm seriously impressed. If you have had things recently painted you need to make sure the paint is properly hard, otherwise it could damage the paint.

there is no way I could have achieved the results they did. Rather than getting the off the shelf shaped film, they did a custom fit taking the file round the whole edge of the rear wheel arch and right up to the top. I got a number of small bits done at the same time, and they were very reasonable.

  2. Had an fantastic day, thanks to Jeff and Jeff for being great garage buddies.

got some great video to bore the family with, just uploaded one of the sessions when i had worked out where i was going.

not sure what youtube has done to the quality as its HD on the laptop.

  3. I've just done the same, but the centres from my old anthracite wheels don't hold in on the new ones. Ok, the original ones are 10 years old but the centre bore must have got slightly bigger on the new ones.

Just something to be aware of.

  4. As I'm planning to to a few more track days this year I'm looking for a second set of 13" wheels.

    I after 6 x 13 fronts and 8 x13 rears for a dedion s3 chassis

happy to look at split rims, anthracite, apolo with or without tyres.

    Thanks

  5. The chap i bought it from said it was valid till the end of the year, although there is no mention of an expiry date on the voucher. When i spoke to BHP yesterday they said just book any date shown on the calender and they will honour it. If you are thinking about using i next year then you would need to double check with them.

  6. I bought a £50 BHP track day voucher a few weeks ago from another member on here. I was intending to arrange a road trip and do a track day down there, but my plans have changed.

i spoke to BHP today just to check its still valid, which they confirmed.

selling for half price of £25 inc postage. or i can take it to the Dunsfold handling day.

    thanks

  7. Don't contemplate a repair, scrap them immediately, don't risk turning a wheel on the road, the consequences could be really serious.

as someone who used to design alloy wheels, I've seen my share of failed wheels in impact testing, you don't want to be in the car when it lets go. I'm sure your friendly scrappy will sell you one for small change.

  8. I've just bought a decat pipe for my 1.8 Vvc k series and noticed it doesn't have anywhere for the lambda probe. It's supposed to be for an r500 k series but i couldn't see any reason why it wouldn't fit mine.

Do I need to fit it? What happens if I don't?

im planning some engine upgrades soon, roller barrels and cams from DVA if that influence things. But it's currently sorn till the weather turns.

    thanks

  9. Interested in the wheel carrier, could you send me a couple of pics please? If you could also let me know where you are I can decide if I can pick it up or will need it posting.

    thanks

  10. If you have changed your hoses make sure you have the diverter valve round the right way. You need the cable connection at the back, so closest the bulkhead. If you have it the wrong way round you will close the heating circuit all the time the heater is off.

  11. I'm pretty sure it's air in the block as the thermostat isn't kicking in. That coupled with the fact that I'm short on coolant points at an Air lock. Top of rad and heater get hot but bottom rad hose is cold.

I'm on holiday this week so Monday would be perfect if you could manage to email the PDF

    Thanks

  12. I have fitted the t piece and opened the heater, intact I used it as the rad with the fan on to help keep the temp down on my short trip round the block. On my short test run I managed to get another half litre in it but am still about half a litre short.

Does a 3mm hole in the thermostat normally sort things out?

  13. Does anyone have a copy of the low flying heater mod you can email me or piston here?

I've just changed to silicone hoses and have he classic airlock. I've been through the archive and followed the filling tips but after my second attempt I've still got air in the block. I even pulled the thermostat housing out slightly till fluid came out then shoved it back in sharp ish.

I would really love to sort this one without having to resort to my local specialist.

    Thanks

    Doug

  14. The kit includes the 5 principle pipes and I added the two heater pipes and will add a bleed valve that I've got coming from eBay too.

Went for the matching orange pipes, and quite looking forward to adding them as a bit of bling too.
