    Save Curborough petition

    By Guest, in Speed Championship,

You may well have read that the Curborough Sprint Course is under threat of being redeveloped as part of an 'eco-town'. Whilst I don't want to comment on Eco-Towns I do feel that it's important that our sporting venues are respected.
Steve Udall of Shenstone and District Car Club has set up a '10 Downing Street' poll and it needs our support. There is a 'Save Curborough' website at http://www.curborough.com/ and the poll can be found http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/curboroughsprint/ Please take the time to support one of our favourite and most accessible venues.

    Another Marathon Man!

    By Guest, in Club Charities,

An update from Ross who recently ran the Edinburgh marathon.
Ross Mclagan has previously completed 3 London Marathons, but this year decided to head home and take part in the Edinburgh Marathon. It took place on Sunday 25 May and Ross was aiming to finish in less than 4 hours. The note I received from him was fairly triumphant saying:
"Mission accomplished - 3 hours 58 minutes and 15 seconds. The mythical sub 4 hours time, I had failed to achieve 3 times before!

The Edinburgh Marathon was excellent, I really enjoyed it and despite doing no serious training at all, I managed to complete it without blowing up!"So well done Ross! For anyone who hasn't yet sponsored him and would still like to do so (there is still time). Please go to:
