Peter T Posted November 21, 2005 Share Posted November 21, 2005 How deep is the score ? If it is too deep then scrap it as it will lose a lot of stregnth if material is machined of. If it ia warped also scrap. Another consideration is it will be heat trated on the surface, and if you find someone to machine it then it will wear faster than originally designed for. Some engineering companies will not machine it if it has been hardened as it wears the tools down , so ask first. However I think another part of the flywheel also had to be machined so that the cover would fit correctly after the face had been done. Didn't pay too much attention at the time though.
